Introducing JE Design's new Cayenne tuning package they call the Progressor. This program features a widebody kit that includes a new front bumper, fenders, side skirts, diffuser, and a roof spoiler. They also offer tunes for the Cayenne Turbo as well as the Diesel model although there are no dynos to accompany the claimed power gains. They are no doubt getting gains but these are just canned tunes. ...

Last month Insideline tested the new Boxster S manual and now we have the Car and Driver numbers to compare. Insideline hit 13.0@108.7 and Car and Driver managed 12.9@111, so a slight improvement. The Boxster S is not far off E92 M3 acceleration with the manual and with the PDK will likely improve a bit. Beyond just the acceleration numbers Car and Driver rates this new Boxster 5 Stars and as an improvement over what was already a fantastic car. ...

PorscheBoost member Lock N Load has been documenting his absolutely jaw dropping 997 GT3 build by Champion Motorsport. In addition to suspension and interior work he chose to have Champion build him a custom 4.2 liter flat-6 motor. Now the 997 GT3 RS MKI was already putting out a healthy amount of power from its 3.6 liter with a baseline of 396 wheel horsepower. That is over 100 wheel horsepower per liter, simply outstanding. ...

Wish this was a party we were invited to. The Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid supercar that we have seen testing over the past year was displayed in close to production form at a private party at Canoe Studios in New York. There was a video posted to Youtube in addition to these photos but it would seem someone at Porsche had the video taken down. We hope somebody managed to snag the video before it was deleted. ...

The PDK transmission does wonders for the new Porsche models and the 911 Turbo is no exception. How does a stock 10 second car sound? Well, that is exactly what the 997.2 Turbo S is capable of. Insideline tested the car at 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and through the 1/4 mile at 10.9@125. Launch control certainly helps as without it they only managed an 11.5@124 which is still blazing fast. Simply spectacular performance from a bone stock car. ...

Gintani has been developing more and more body pieces for various cars under their aero line and following their E92 M3 kit they are now releasing their Porsche Panamera kit. The kit consists of a new hood with carbon fiber accents, carbon fiber rear diffuser, side skirts with carbon accents, carbon front lip, carbon fiber wing, and carbon fiber bumper vents. We saw the car with the pieces in person and it looked fantastic with great fitment. ...

This is the Panamera Cyrano tuning program from Hamann. Hamann has revised the body kit giving the front fascia larger air intakes and including the oh so trendy LED's that everyone else is. The extended fenders have also been widened. An optional carbon fiber hood rounds out the package. The engine output is bumped up to 603 horses (although no dyno is provided). We doubt this will be a very popular kit or package in the United States where superior power options exist for less money as well as many other body piece options. ...

There are two races in the video versus the same Porsche 996 Turbo. The first video is an outside the car view, which, well, sucks. We are still able to see the 996 Turbo is able to take the 2011 GTR with undisclosed bolt ons. The second red GTR is a 2012 Black Edition with mid pipes and an Ivey Tune. The 996 Turbo beats both and was running 25 psi on its upgraded turbos with E85. The GTR ripped it out of the hole and on the first couple shifts only for the horsepower advantage of the 911 Turbo to take over. ...

Who does not love to see cars versus bikes? The car here being the 911 GT2 RS which is capable of high 10's around the 133 mile per hour trap speed mark and the bike being the Ducati 1199 Panigale S. The Ducati has a 415 pound curb weight and a 195 horse motor putting the power to weight easily in the bikes favor. A good rider should be able to extract a 10 flat in the 1/4 mile in the mid 140 mile per hour range with the Ducati. ...

The new 981 Boxster is an absolutely gorgeous car inside and out and a large improvement on the previous generation model getting lighter and faster. Insideline got their hands on the manual version which posted some impressive numbers with only 315 horses. 60 miles per hour came in 4.9 seconds and the 1/4 mile came in 13 seconds flat at 108.7 miles per hour. This car is quicker/faster than an E46 M3 with less power. ...

Sales of the new Panamera Turbo and Cayenne Turbo which share the same motor are stopped by order of Porsche. Porsche issued a recall as well for 2011-2012 models. The reason for the stoppage and recall is due to a defect in the turbo compressor wheel which may cause it to break and force oil to be drawn into the exhaust causing risk of a fire. This does not affect all turbo models just those produced with an alloy wheel by an outside supplier in a limited run. ...

The GTR and 911 turbo are cars frequently compared due to their similarities. All wheel drive, twin turbo six cylinders, and dual clutch (optional in the Porsche) transmissions. They also are frequently modified for huge horsepower. Two of the premier companies for tuning these cars are Protomotive for the Porsche and AMS for the GTR. The Alpha 12 Package by AMS for the GTR is said to be capable of 1500 horsepower and is their highest horsepower offering. ...

This is a great 1/4 mile comparison to see as it is real world with real owners. The Porsche 911 Turbo is a 997.1 model 6-speed manual that is completely stock. The Audi R8 V10 has an APR tune and Milltek exhaust. The R8 has the R-Tronic sequential manual transmission. The turbo runs an 11.88@119 with a 1.64 60 foot. Clearly the Porsche owner knows how to drive. The R-Tronic R8 surprisingly only manages a 11.97@119 with a 1.9X 60 foot. With a better launch the R8 should win but rather surprising a tuned R8 V10 was this close to a stock 997.1 turbo. ...
