  • GIAC tuned Golf R 2.0 TFSI results with Loba Motorsport L0400 turbocharger upgrade - +129 wheel horsepower

Some really nice power figures here achieved on a Golf R with the Lobo Motorsport L0400 turbocharger and GIAC tuning. The baseline for the Golf R on the four wheel drive Mustang dyno is 229 wheel horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. With the bigger turbocharger 100 octane fuel this goes to 311 horsepower at the wheels for a gain of 82 horsepower at all four wheels. The torque figure rises to 303 pound-feet at the wheels.

Very impressive but what is eye opening is the 91 octane figure with meth injection. Horsepower rises to 358 at the wheels and torque to 310 pound-feet at the wheels for gains of 129 horsepower and 81 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. That is with the GIAC "Extreme" tuning file. Interestingly enough the 100 octane and meth injection figures mirror the 91 octane figures which has VWBoost a little confused. Either way, solid gains.

It seems the Loba Motorsport L0400 turbo upgrade may be something to look into for those who want something much more capable than the K04. The lag does not even seem to increase with this turbo according to the baseline dyno. Pictures and dyno graph below.
