    • Maximum PSI stock S54 DME and stock internal Stage II E46 M3 turbo kit reaches 697 wheel horsepower

BimmerBoost is happy to give credit where credit is due and credit is most certainly due here. Congratulations to Maximum PSI as well as Nick G of Technique Tuning for raising the bar on what a stock DME tuned E46 M3 turbo S54 inline-6 engine is capable. How does 697 wheel horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque at the wheels with MS109 race gas sound? And how about the fact that they aren't done as E85 maps are planned?

E85 dyno plots will come next and they are planning to offer map switching with different boost levels although this will likely not be possible on the fly. The fact it will be possible at all is something of a minor miracle. It is nice to see the E46 M3 platform maturing finally after all these years. Congratulations to all involved, dynograph and video below.

I thought the stock internals don't handle more than 530rwhp

It's a very stout iron block. I'm sure It can take more then 700whp just fine.

It sure can if you have the octane. We did one a long time ago for f1 driver Tony Kanaan but it was on a stand alone ecu.

700 hp on the stock ecu is quite impressive. Good Job Mike!

I love this car and regret letting mine go more and more everyday. Awesome stuff - that torque curve is testament to how a boosted motor should act. What a jewel.

        I have a few questions.

Is the kit for US models only or can EU fit the kit just fine?

And is it in-house install only or can it be self installed and remote tuned?? (With instructions)

        Thanks

Doubtful, probably have the same problems as the RHD E46 M3s that wanted to run the HPF turbo kit. The single turbo doesn't fit because of the steering column, so RHD owners have to settle for two smaller turbos.

Tony Kanaan has never driven an F1 car, he has however driven Indy and CART.

It's a kit... you can install it yourself providing you know what you are doing.

It will fit LHD cars just fine.

It's easy to mix those up people in the US do it all the time. Active should get it right though but easy mistake.

Might have to scuttle those plans for a supercharger and get on the turbo bandwagon instead...
