    • Comparing four sets of turbos on the Porsche 996TT - A3076 vs. A28 vs. K16G vs. OEM K24

Interesting dynojet dyno comparison at the rear wheels comparing four sets of turbos on the Porsche 996 Turbo. These twin turbo setups are the A3076 at 28 psi on E85 tuned by Tony@EPL, A28 at 24 psi on MS109 tuned Markski, K16G at 22 psi on MS109 tuned by Markski, and a set of OEM K24 turbos at 15 psi on 93 octane tuned by FVD. It's interesting to not the spool characteristics between the turbos and how the bigger setups are not giving up much of anything as far as spool is concerned.

The OEM K24's spool better than the K16G setup but the A3076 and A28 setups all spool similarly although there is a much better top end and torque boost with the latter two mentioned. Although the torque drops off the horsepower is remarkably flat from about 4500 rpm to 7000 rpm except on the A3076.

The K16g's ultimately offer more mid-range and top end punch than the OEM K24's although if one wants similar spool to the K24 but with much more top end than what the K16G offers clearly there are better options. Graphs below.

In order as seen on the graph:

      -K16G, 22psi, MS109, Markski Tuned
      -A28, 24psi, MS109, Markski Tuned
      -A3076, 28psi, E85, Tony@EPL tuned
      -OEM K24, 15psi, 93oct, FVD Tuned

wish there was some bolt-on kits like the alphas for the 997.1 as it does for the 996

Why can't you bolt on turbos on the 997.1? It's not that much different from the 996TT the 997.2 is the one that got the new motor plus PDK.

no it requires some custom exhaust pipes if one gets the 996 kits, and anything "custom" in Sweden is just insanely expensive. A friend got quoted almost $1000 for replacing his Q7 battery at the stealers ( to put things in perspective)...

I understand but I don't mean retrofitting a 996 kit I mean just doing stuff directly for your car. You can do very similar things...

Alpha turbos will bolt on directly on stock headers and stock exhaust also. We used them in several cars since 2009

I shared it as I thought that was the point of it? I don't see a copyright or you posting it on your own site?

A joke is keeping info to yourself that could otherwise benefit the community. A shame you are so childish.

        P.S.

That site has a lot of my content... I'm not complaining.

Wow, 3076 arguably spools better and capable of much more power... though, to be far it was running much higher boost. id like to see these at similar pressure levels to get a more level field understanding.

Yep seems to be a hell of a turbo though.

You need somebody who sells them. Also clarification they fit the 997.1tt without modification that may only be for the 996tt.

@undercoverangie / @undercover could probably tell you, since they're familiar with modifying a wide variety of cars
