    • Buckhead Imports hits 669 wheel horsepower with their low compression built motor E39 M5 S62 V8 running the RMS supercharger kit with Vortech YSI

Very impressive results here and nice to see some big numbers from supercharged S62 V8's. This car here is using the RMS supercharger kit which obviously features a supercharger (Vortech YSI) and RMS associated hardware including what is one of the most beautiful plenums in the BMW aftermarket. This E39 M5 features a built motor S62 V8 with low compression pistons and forged internals which can handle more boost from the YSI allowing for an impressive 669 wheel horsepower.

Buckhead Imports did not mention what fuel they used although at 22 psi of boost for this run one would assume 100+ octane race gas. It will be interesting to see if they spin the YSI anymore than they are but these are some great results and it is nice to see more built motor supercharged S62 V8's.

Great work by Buckhead Imports and a solid system from RMS:

I got to spend a weekend with them at their shop about a year ago. They are awesome people and very skilled at what they do.

That engine creates power like an M should... Insanely awesome machine. Wow.

Every time I see one of these (seems less and less frequent as time passes) - I like them more and more. Comparing this to the latest M5, you can see the styling direction BMW has chosen - and I am not sure if I like it sometimes... Other times, I do. Click here to enlarge

Agreed 100%. I don't think you can argue that another M5 captures the M design philosophy in a 4dr luxury sedan any better than this.

There is no argument. It's black and white.
