Another Ferrari 458 versus Mercedes-Benz SLS roll on race comparison, this time with a 458 Spyder
The Ferrari 458 versus SLS AMG is an interesting comparison that tends to get the users here riled up a bit. On one side are members who believe the SLS is significantly faster and others who believe the cars are evenly matched. Just last week a video was posted of stock Ferrari 458 versus a Stock SLS AMG
and the cars were fairly evenly matched with an edge going to the SLS AMG. Here is another comparison between a stock Ferrari 458 and an SLS AMG although this time the 458 is a Spyder.
So what happens? Well, once again the cars are fairly evenly matched with the edge going to the SLS AMG. Who wins really seems to be who gets on the gas first and who is in the right gear. The SLS with its higher torque seems to be more forgiving to starting speed but this is basically a drivers race.
The 458 has a folding metal roof which adds weight. Only a 110 pound penalty though so the 458 Spyder is still about 300 pounds lighter than the SLS AMG. Regardless, the cars are close in acceleration. Watch the video below and come to your own conclusion.
