    • Weistec Engineering 3.0 liter twin screw SLS AMG M159 V8 supercharger kit preview

Weistec has several supercharger options available for the M156 V8 found in 63 AMG vehicles including 50 State Legal, Stage I, Stage II, Stage II, and Stage III kits. The SLS AMG has a slightly different motor (M159) and layout and thus far Weistec has offered a 2.3 liter supercharger for the SLS they call their SLS 750 system. Recently on the Benzboost M156/M159 forums users asked where the 3.0 liter blower for the SLS AMG M159 was and now they have their answer. It's right here.

Weistec brought out their SLS AMG fitted with a 3.0 liter twin screw to the Mercedes Madness event this past weekend in Anaheim, California. As you can see in the photos below, Weistec is running the 3.0 liter on the SLS and doing durability testing in anticipation of official release. The supercharger system is still being tweaked but this is what Benzboost learned.

Expect horsepower in the 7XX wheel range on 91 octane pump gas. Over 700 wheel on pump gas? Incredible. There has been some testing on other fuels and horsepower in the 8XX wheel range has been achieved on stock M159 internals with the 3.0 liter blower.

This is going to be an unrivaled options for the SLS AMG in the marketplace offering the most horsepower and torque. If you have an SLS AMG and want big performance that can be used daily on pump gas, look no further. Expect an official release before the end of the year.

I didn't see anything on their website about upgrades to the dual clutch trans for the 750 package. I find it hard to believe it holds up well with the 600ish wheel much less 700ish wheel. This is not intended to be negative just fact finding as I consider the SLS a potential next car for me.

You raise a good point but I believe they have solutions. @Weistec

Was going to post the same thing no way those clutches are holding that power your talking about %50+ more power than stock levels. The Multi Clutch Trans(MCT) thats in my car(2012 c63) has a limit of 670whp and thats directly from weistec. MCT while not as responsive as the DCT i would imagine it would be stronger since its the same trans on the m157 biturbo models and handles the boatload of torque that engine dishes out from down low.

Yes those are from Weistec. I don't know if they are to match the engine bay or designed to improve function.

Gentlemen thank you all for the interest in our SLS systems. It is just a matter of time when people start asking why the SLS system is the last to run the 3.0L compressor. We would like to give out a few details however this system is constantly evolving because we are trying to make this our best system yet.

The 3.0L SLS system will be sold to customers as a package only. These cars are very sensitive to any modifications, and we are hoping some of the SLS owners can chime in on this. Simply installing a set of long tube headers can be a big head ache on these cars because of O2 sensor placement. You will see constant RPM fluctuation due to erratic fuel trim changes and very sensitive and unexpected throttle pedal feel.

For this reason we have designed a proper header and mid-pipe combination that works great with these cars, and allows the supercharger system to work even better. Details on this will come later. We have also been testing a DCT clutch upgrade for the past 6-7 months.

The 3.0L SLS package will consist of the complete supercharger system upgrade, high flow exhaust, and the DCT clutch upgrade. In testing, this package is extremely powerful and is our fastest combination yet. Again, we will have many more details soon but as of now we are still testing. Thanks again guys.

Sorry guys one thing we forgot to mention. We will have the air boxes and dry sump oil tank cover available very soon. Both pieces are made in house and are designed to give the engine bay the finishing touch. Thanks.

Hi Steve, Nice car gathering man

I though the O2 sensors wouldnt be a problem once the relocation is done. Like what I did with mine. Anyway, shouldnt a custom tune fix that?. Im not having these hesitations anymore.

Anyway, I want this on my car quick. I have been waiting for this to be released. When is the expected date.?

Honestly, I have been hearing complaints with your superchargers with SLS's that are fitted with longtubes that they are not runnin properley. Will this be fixed with the new headers your designing. You have photos?
