    • Weistec Engineering 3.0 liter twin screw SLS AMG M159 V8 supercharger kit preview

Weistec has several supercharger options available for the M156 V8 found in 63 AMG vehicles including 50 State Legal, Stage I, Stage II, Stage II, and Stage III kits. The SLS AMG has a slightly different motor (M159) and layout and thus far Weistec has offered a 2.3 liter supercharger for the SLS they call their SLS 750 system. Recently on the Benzboost M156/M159 forums users asked where the 3.0 liter blower for the SLS AMG M159 was and now they have their answer. It's right here.

Weistec brought out their SLS AMG fitted with a 3.0 liter twin screw to the Mercedes Madness event this past weekend in Anaheim, California. As you can see in the photos below, Weistec is running the 3.0 liter on the SLS and doing durability testing in anticipation of official release. The supercharger system is still being tweaked but this is what Benzboost learned.

Expect horsepower in the 7XX wheel range on 91 octane pump gas. Over 700 wheel on pump gas? Incredible. There has been some testing on other fuels and horsepower in the 8XX wheel range has been achieved on stock M159 internals with the 3.0 liter blower.

This is going to be an unrivaled options for the SLS AMG in the marketplace offering the most horsepower and torque. If you have an SLS AMG and want big performance that can be used daily on pump gas, look no further. Expect an official release before the end of the year.

We state on our website that the SLS 750 system can only be used with stock exhaust. It becomes difficult to stop customers from installing other parts on their cars.

The only solution to fixing the problem with current SLS headers on the market is moving the O2 sensor in one primary. It is a complete band aid solution but it does work for customers that run NA. Proper O2 placement is key and this means reading exhaust gases from all cylinders. Tuning can only take us so far but the hardware (headers) needs to be corrected. This is our intention. Hope this helps.

sounds like they fixed any issues that they may have had . buy it and post the results cuz I would love to see it in action !

You dont have a clue about what your talking!

I have seen the M159 SLS that steve @Weistec built in the UAE with a 3.0L Long before that grey SLS above. It was having issues with the supersprint longtubes.

Another friend of mine who sent his SLS with SS longtubes recently to Weistec for a 2.3L, also has some issues and the car is not putting power to the ground consistently.

I know about the headers they are making. Steve told me about it one year ago. He told me that and the upgraded clutch will work perfectly for the 3.0L. Thats why I havent installed it yet and I'm waiting for the products to be released.

Here is a photo you havent seen:

        Attachment 32199

This was one year ago with Weistec's Dealer Mr. Mathia Belluci in the UAE. . Same person who fitted the 3.0L on @Jacob502 SL63. Do you see that 3.0L on the SLS engine?Click here to enlarge

Again, not putting Weistec down. I'm sure they will have it figured out and I for one will be waiting for it! They are the BEST

My SLS is already a beast. with this 3.0L system it will draw flames from hell on the streets of Qatar. NO DOUBTClick here to enlarge

This is not intended to be negative just fact finding as I consider the SLS a potential next car for me.
The clutches can handle mid 700whp, Weistec is shooting for mid 800's with this set up and they are already developing solutions. My SLS BS will be getting the big 3.0 treatment in early October.

As luck would have it my CLK is back out at Weistec getting a full cage installed and a couple other little things. We should line up and see what happens.

What is the long term effect from not reading the proper parameters?I had the install headache until I got the instructions from Weistec about the relocation of the O2 sensors, car pulls hard now and strong apart from the lower RPM stutter and pops which was not there before the headers install.I do have a tune for the headers which i did not swap yet(I have 2 ECU's)do any of the SLS owners here have the same issues?
        Thank you

So I am guessing the ti exhaust system on the SLS BS is going to be an even bigger $#@! to deal with when it comes to relocating O2 bungs?
