• Weistec Engineering 3.0 liter twin screw SLS AMG M159 V8 supercharger kit preview

Weistec has several supercharger options available for the M156 V8 found in 63 AMG vehicles including 50 State Legal, Stage I, Stage II, Stage II, and Stage III kits. The SLS AMG has a slightly different motor (M159) and layout and thus far Weistec has offered a 2.3 liter supercharger for the SLS they call their SLS 750 system. Recently on the Benzboost M156/M159 forums users asked where the 3.0 liter blower for the SLS AMG M159 was and now they have their answer. It's right here.

Weistec brought out their SLS AMG fitted with a 3.0 liter twin screw to the Mercedes Madness event this past weekend in Anaheim, California. As you can see in the photos below, Weistec is running the 3.0 liter on the SLS and doing durability testing in anticipation of official release. The supercharger system is still being tweaked but this is what Benzboost learned.

Expect horsepower in the 7XX wheel range on 91 octane pump gas. Over 700 wheel on pump gas? Incredible. There has been some testing on other fuels and horsepower in the 8XX wheel range has been achieved on stock M159 internals with the 3.0 liter blower.

This is going to be an unrivaled options for the SLS AMG in the marketplace offering the most horsepower and torque. If you have an SLS AMG and want big performance that can be used daily on pump gas, look no further. Expect an official release before the end of the year.

Luke, you better check your stats, the SLS BS lapped Laguna Seca just 4/10ths slower than the MP4, I would call that pretty close.

I will take the SLS BS and its tuning potential over the MP4. 4/10ths of a second is nothing and that was with the same driver Randy Probst. SLS BS will most likely hold its value more than the MP4 as well. I am not taking anything away from it, it is an amazing car but for you guys to say AMG offers nothing that will compete is just silly. I have $185k in my C BS and what it would do to any MP4 on a road course would be embarassing. SLS BS also turned quicker lap than the GTR Black Edition and Porsche GT3 4.0

I'll take the MP4. Hopefully we can do a comparison next year.

In all honesty, no AMG has held its value. Not even the SLR. They all tumble like rocks. The SLS BS has the best chance of any AMG produced thus far and deservedly so.

I didn't say AMG doesn't offer anything that compares/competes. I simply said the MP4 is awesome and after checking it out I'm in love with it.

I really, really, really, would not advise picking on an MP4 on a road course even one that is bone stock. Embarrassing it would not be keep in mind it is a mid-engine 3180 pound twin turbo dual clutch V8 car with the most sophisticated suspension and traction control systems ever put into a vehicle.

Have you checked the C BS used market lately? Aero package cars are selling for over MSRP.

What in the world are you talking about??? The SLS BS ran a 1:35.0 and the MP4 ran a 1:34.6 at Laguna Seca with Randy Probst driving both cars. Thats about two car lengths. Want me to post videos of my C BS raping a couple MP4's at Road America to the tune of about 3 seconds per lap? Or how about the one I raped at shift sector with the C?

Why do you have to wait til next year, if they have one just go buy it.

If you are beating an MP4 it is the driver and also strictly due to power. Equal power or the MP4 with even less it will always win as it has the superior chassis, suspension, transmission, aerodynamics, and weight. You can't beat physics. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your car.

That would be nice but I'm just a poor kid who needs to sell his supercharged built motor M3 first before buying a McLaren.

I took care of you with a positive.

Same thing happened to me a bit ago.

Edit: I spoke to soon regarding the positive rep. It won't let me. It says I must spread reputation around.
