    • Maximum PSI Stage 2 E46 M3 S54 inline-6 turbo kit sets 6-speed E46 M3 1/4 mile record with 10.43@135.81 pass

Congratulations to Maximum PSI and Nick G of Technique Tuning (the tuner for the Max PSI kit) for a record setting 1/4 mile pass. The Stage 2 Maximum PSI E46 M3 turbocharger kit managed a very impressive 10.42@135.81 1/4 mile pass. This is with a 6-speed manual car, tuned by Nick G on the stock DME, running the stock internals and 11.5:1 compression ratio. The run took place at the ATCO drag strip located in New Jersey.

No details were included as to the boost pressure run on the MS109 fuel, tire specs (clearly drag rubber), or supporting modifications such as the exhaust or suspension. A video of the record setting run is below and hopefully Maximum PSI provides further details.

Regardless, this an incredible achievement for the E46 M3 and congratulations are in order for all involved. This is definitely a feat that can be replicated by owners of the Stage 2 kit and bodes well for Stage 3 and beyond.

An auto is easier to launch then a manual? You don't say...Click here to enlarge Get a proper AT option for the N54 and the game is changed, low 10's would be common.

Not because the motor is as good though. You give this M3 an auto and drag suspension and it will be in the 9's...

I wonder what the torque #'s are. That was a serious squat off the line, it looked like he scraped the exhaust

They hit 131 previously at 697 wheel. Not sure if they are at more power now for this run or just more evolved tuning / launching.

Sure, and how many are there out there that can REALLY do this..... please post when someone really does it

Very nice, but you forgot to mention it is a US record because the world record belongs to Sweden with a 9sec run

I just realized that the car had a limit of ~6k at a standstill that I could be using for the launch the whole time. I tapped the limiter but was using my right foot for a 2 step. Next time I will use the secondary limiter.

We ran 134.5 mph at 18psi with that same "697whp" power level. I bumped the boost up another psi for this pass. Originally we were making power on the dyno but seeing reduced power on the street/track.

Althought I gave them a hard time due to the price of their kit about a year ago, these new results are impressive (at that time they weren't even making 500 HP). This kit has definitely proven itself, though. Very nice.

You're right but it's a world stock DME record and I put more validity into USA slips so in my mind this is the stock internal stock DME record.

Yes I remember discussing that at Bimmerfest and includedd it in my interview article. Glad to see the difference a clean run makes, props guys.
