    • A lesson in BMW posing courtesy of StanceWorks - AKA all show and no go

StanceWorks showcases cars that are modified really by dropping them to the ground and then admiring how little wheel gap there is. There is a market for this certainly and many of the projects are absolutely beautiful accentuating classic designs that many today have forgotten about. This however is not one of those cars. This is a classic example of a BMW poser. Somebody who has a car that looks like something it is not and does not perform how it looks (or should).

The Liberty Walk widebody kit for the E92 M3 is a beautiful and very different take on the BMW M3 widebody. It was designed for the BMW E92 M3 and actually serves a functional purpose in allowing very wide rubber. Does it look good? Sure. Does it also have a purpose? Yes.

Does this car look good? Kind of. Does it have a purpose? No. It's a 335xi posing as an M3. Ok, maybe that is not the most egregious offense in the world but then the car is also on air bags. So essentially the owner has taken a suspension setup designed to handle well and thrown it in the garbage to have absolutely idiotic looking camber and 'stance.'

Illustration of what is not a sexy look that does not belong on a German car:

Ok, fine, so the guy is going all show. But then what the hell is the roll cage for? In case the wheels fall off and the car rolls? What does he need that harness for? This car is not going to see any sort of track. The car barely looks stable parked.

This kit and build will be celebrated on StanceWorks no doubt. It will be mocked and ridiculed on BimmerBoost. Taking a 3-Series, dropping it, then photoshopping the hell out of pictures is not sophisticated car modification. This is tacky modding hiding under an artsy guise. StanceWorks certainly represents an interesting car modding culture that is different and can be respected but this particular build is not one to be respected. This build takes the Ultimate Driving Machine and turns it into BMW rice and the Ultimate Poser Machine. It also illustrates the difference between the GermanBoost network and StanceWorks perfectly.

i saw an ipl g37 yesterday that was so low the rear camber was all mess-up like this, it makes me so angry that someone would take a sports car and them make it handle worse. I just dont get it, less contact patch, less stability, un even tire wear, and all just to look "cool". I like to lower my cars as well, to the point where the tire meets the fender and thats it, no tucked in look for me

I like a lot of stuff from Stanceworks but this car is hideous. If the car were a person it would be inbred, live in a trailer and only eat fast food. It makes me want to sell my seats just so I don't share the same seats as something so class-LESS.

He should have bought a M3 than. Oh wait, that would even been more pathetic because he makes the car USELESS for anything more than staring at in a parking lot.

Hate cars that low. What's the point? It doesn't even look good. Looks very trashy IMO and not performance oriented whatsoever. At least change the hood to an M3s to at least make it harder to tell it isn't one.

Yeah its garbage. Not to mention a wind tunnel mess just like the 458 they produced, the front end on the Ferrari is totally unbalanced from a true aero perspective; but the stance crowd loves it, along with the hipsters.

It's going to increase drag for sure but I wonder as to how bad it is.

Haha and I get neg repped for having an opinion. Someome should be allowed to do whatever they want to their car. I stopped hatin along time ago.

Not everyone wants to track an M3. Thats like hating on a 911 owner because he didnt buy it to track it. Some people like to mod their cars their own way irrespective of what the market percieves as 'cool'

No it's like hating on a 911 Carrera owner who gets a GT2 body kit, roll cage, 22's, and drops it on bags.

lol, yeah I'm sure not. I can't believe how many people are posting as if the car isn't "driveable" seriously? First time seeing a bagged car?

I personally do not understand the look of having tires too small for the wheels...saw a bunch of it at the last car show I was at....first couple cars I saw I thought...WTF is that? Bro, go get some tires that fit...then I realized after another 10 or so cars had that it was apparently the "look" which "looks" like $#@! and is completely pointles...get tires that $#@!ing fit the rim, that is just ridiculous!

Now besides the suspension not being true to BMW driveability, and the tires being too small, this car actually looks really good. I see a lot of Stick fan boi's posting they dont' like it simply cause they apparently have no opinion of their own. Great color, great kit, overall really good looking car, and i don't care if it's an M3 or not, it looks good, that's what they wanted, so there ya go. The roll cage is a bit much though...
