    • Michael Schumacher may never wake again - Doctors fear permanent vegetative state

The news regarding Michael Schumacher's recovery from his tragic skiing accident is grim. The seven time world champion may never again regain consciousness after a medically induced coma to repair a brain hemorrhage after his head struck a rock. There is no date for when doctors might try to wake him and after being in an induced coma and on life support for such a prolonged time period doctors believe there is not much of a chance for a limited recovery let alone a full recovery.

Schumacher's vitals are stable but he remains in a critical condition. There is fear that if doctor's wake him he may lose his memory or sustain further damage. His family continues to pray for a miracle.

It may be time for us to face the likely possibility that the Michael Schumacher we all knew is gone and only his physical self remains.

His actual Doctors have not released any statements in sometime. So any of the latest news is just speculation at best.

This is true as little information is being released but apparently based on what is available leading neurologists feel this long of an induced coma means things are pretty damn bad.

There is no way to 100% know for sure what will happen but the possibility of him never recovering is becoming increasingly likely day by day.

I hope we get a miracle.

It's a shame. Worst case scenario, the guy lived an amazing life. Wouldn't most of us trade places to have the life he had, although shortened? It's not how long you live, it's how well you live.

He could be in coma for who knows how long. I remember an old story about a guy that was in coma for 19 years. He said just it felt like he went to sleep and just woke up, just happened to be 19 years later.

Like everyone else here, I hope for the best and that he has a miraculous recovery. The man has been a legend and can really be attributed to keeping F1 alive after some major losses (Senna) & leading the way for the sports next generation of stars like Vettel.

Schumacher is pure underdog story. F1 is rich man's sport, he comes from brick layer family ,middle class. He debuted in 1992 driving for inferior Benetton team and was finishing consistent 3rd- 4th place, right behind senna, mensel. In 1994 he was so good that other driver's thought Benetton is cheating and suspected to have ASC/DSC/ABS system on the car, which it did not. Schumi was just pure talent.
If Schumi was of black race, he would of been propped up by media by 1994 as a super human like they made tiger woods in 1997. But Schumi is just another good looking white german, with cold personality and boring press conferences. I admire him because he refused to get raped by german IRS, there is no need to pay income tax to german government if there is only one german grand prix, taxation without representation. Senna payed no taxes to Brazil, he was considered national treasure, but will never recognize Schumi as national treasure because they would be accused of being Nazi again.
