    • Best E46 M3 S54 supercharger kit value? TTFS presents the Active Autowerke Prima & Prima Plus non-intercooled kits starting at $5995 and offering over 500 wheel horsepower

Active Autowerke recently introduced their Prima non-intercooled E46 M3 supercharger kit. This kit uses the well known Rotrex C38-92 spec blower to great results. Starting at $5995 (TTFS has it on sale for $5500) the kit is a very good value and at just 5.8 psi of boost on an otherwise stock E46 M3 puts down 426 horsepower to the wheels and 297 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on pump gas and the stock fuel system. Now Active Autowerke is also introducing a Prima Plus kit for those that want more.

The Prima kit is completely modular so those who want Prima Plus can simply upgrade their standard Prima kit. The difference is meth injection, a new tune, upgraded injectors, more boost, and other associated parts. Taking the Prima kit to 9 psi with meth injection results in 514 wheel horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. Pretty nice bump, right?

Retail pricing for the Prima Plus setup has yet to be determined but TTFS is already offering it in a summer sale at $6500. One will be hard pressed to find a more cost effective option without sacrificing the quality or reliability to get over 500 wheel horsepower on an E46 M3.

Further details from Tuning Tech FS:

We are really excited to present the new generation of Prima kit Supercharger. This kit consists of the unparalleled quality and craftsmanship provided with all Active Autowerke hardware combined with the expert tuning skills of Frank Smith.

We at Tuningtech FS have spent countless hours on the dyno to create an optimum tune, ensuring a safe and consistent power output for the Prima supercharger kit. The same standard of excellence implemented into all our tuning products. For a limited time, we are offering the kit at a special discount. This is a non-intercooled set up running low boost and great for any daily driver. Best of all the installation is a breeze and requires moderate skills.

Outstanding value, especially since E46s are so affordable now.

Thank you for the kind words. Here is a few extra facts for people who are scared of meth. The TTFS Prima kit control boost via sport mode. In other words, if you want to run 9 psi you press the sport button and you have meth and higher boost. If you run with sport mode off you have 5.5-5.8 psi. This is great for daily driving. If the meth stop working the boost will drop down to the conservative 5.5psi range. We are please to be the first to offer this on the supercharger application.

How are you doing that? A clutch-based pulley?

That sounds like turbocharger theory, never heard of upping the boost with a supercharger with no change of pulley? Am I wrong or

@Sticky they use a bypass valve to control boost

Yes but it depends on the supercharger setup. Audi uses a bypass valve on the S4 for example.

That could be it. Haven't heard of other solutions for superchargers though.

In what sense? In theory it should have more low end power as you can spin it faster at lower revs.
