    • Naturally aspirated German power - Eurocharged tuned W204 C63 AMG M156 V8 vs. Evolve Tuned E60 M5 S85 V10 and comparison to ESS S85 tune

A nice set of run videos here courtesy of forum member Mybabym5. We have two naturally aspirated Germans going at it one with AMG M156 6.2 liter V8 power and the other with M S85 V10 power. The video quality is not that great but considering the runs we will let this one slide. The M5 features an Evolve tune with RPI catless headers, RPI exhaust, RPI pulley, RPI scoops, and the RPI oil cooler. The car previously ran an ESS tune before switching to Evolve as most people are these days.

The C63 has has similar bolt on mods with a Eurocharged tune, catless pipes, and aftermarket filters with the charcoal element removed.

Regardless, you see two of the best German naturally aspirated performance engines ever built going at it here. The M156 from AMG is obviously larger but the S85 V10 revs higher. Its top end takes this race and it goes to show how important revs, horsepower, and gearing are on the highway.

Both tuners of these cars are vendors on this network so there is no stake in this race. It is simply great to see.

Further details in the words of the M5 owner:

Hey guys, some more fun racing videos.. This time hunting down a C63 again.

      E60 M5:

      Evolve Alpha N tune
      OEM RPI de-catted headers
      RPI GTS Exhaust
      RPI pulley
RPI air scoops + BMC filters
      RPI oil cooler

      vs

      C63 AMG

Fully Catless, modded with filters + charcoal delete

Video quality is off a crap crap!!! cell phone from a friend as no go pro around..Apologizes..
But non the less shows the modded M5 pulling nicely.

      In C63 race 1

In M5 view race 2: C63 gets jump, M5 goes fishing
      15mph roll..

Just want to take a moment aswell and give a Big thanks to Evolve.. Their tune is running amazing!! The power and the consistent delivery is just amazing! I am extremly happy how my car is running and performing. They make the best tunes for this V10 motor by far!

I also wanted to give a small write up here showing how my car performed with the evolve tune vs the ESS tune against the same exact C63:

Compare my M5 pulling against the C63 here with the evolve tune vs how my M5 pulled here with the ESS tune against the same exact C63 with same mods. With my evolve tune in the above video, I am pulling away much faster and harder than I am here.

It certainly sounds great, but is it actually doing anything ? I mean, does the motor continue to make power above the stock rev limit ? Would love to see a dyno graph to see exactly whats happening close to 8k revs...

It's really a 7500rpm just the dash shows higher . Even stock on a dyno will only go to 7000 but shows 7200. Going to dyno the new set up soon so will see if it goes flat or continues to go higher.

I think it has a positive effect. All dynos ive seen have c63 with headers ending at redline still gaining power or just starting to flatten out. Even if it flattens out the effect of being in the next gear now 300 rpm higher has a big effect. LZH Look at a m156 dyno and check the power at 5200 which is where youll be at stock redline after upshift and now check it at 5500 its a good difference. Only dynos will tell before just making an educated guess

That's a very good point - I didn't think of that...I guess on each upshift being higher in the rev range where more power is being produced will have a compounding effect each gear change. I just wonder how long the non forged bottom end cars will be able to handle that before a rod lets go...

It will def be interesting when we rematch i will be switching to more aggressive OE tune and will do a custom tune since I'm just running an off the shelf tune that do not take into account my Intake, full exhaust, and throttle bodies so I'm sure I still have some power I can squeeze out with Jeremy. I still want a DIG race LOL !! Honestly Its always going to be close between these 2 motors and cars. Lots of respect for the e60 m5 platform best motor BMW M has ever made and will probably ever make

the third race is in the end of the clip where C63 might have been like half a fender ahead! thats all!

Absolutely he took the hit first race but a chase is a race I still nosed ahead before I let off I'm fine with calling the first race even. You see what happened second run it was more than a car length. Third was the exact same as the 2nd race. I'm not here to argue with fanboys the c63 was faster the owner shook my hand and agreed. The end

It was 185mph and I drove over 2 hours to go run them in there Mexican autobahn. I was not familiar with the road at all my first time there and 185mph is plenty. Stop making excuses buddy that's why we ran 3 races. None of the cameras were mine the m5 owner had one and his buddy put a gopro on mine. This is all they released

That's not true. You weren't driving your car you were in a chase car that was way behind us trying to zoom in on the race. No way you can tell from that grainy chase video. He was in my mirror 3rd race no doubt same as 2nd race.

Total of 3 races! I think the videos speak for themselves! The first and 3rd races were dead even! You only won the second race! As for the third race, it was Senad takin the video and he can corroborate my words.

I'm going to edit the mod list and leave it up and we'll put the new ones up.

I don't know why you guys posted this in this thread and it confuses everything. Create a new thread with the details on your races and your mods @ezec63 because this is now cluttered.
