    • Race Video: Tuned CLK550 vs. JB4 335

      Well, here we go, finally, we have a race involving BB member blkclk550. After 30+ pages of keybord warfare races took place. Now, we are told the 335 was on a 100 octane map. Blaizon, the 335 owner, said he would run a 93 octane map. The CLK does pretty well seemingly getting the jump each time and holding it. The cars seem pretty evenly matched with the JB4 having a slight top end advantage. The commentary by whomever filmed was humorous but we could do without it. Either way, look at the vids and decide for yourself.

        I was going to run a higher map * map7 16.5*, but I figured the auto tune map5 with 100 oct would let me run max timing vs 93. It helped out in the earlier runs, but later on not so much. On 93oct I see similar results with him holding the lead though.

        Def very nice results!! clk550 is def super under rated!

        But i have beaten two clk550's in my 335i with my old JB3 2.0 on map7 on 93 octane, they were stock though.

        To the 3 owner, i would have ran Map 7 for sure.. I think a AT 335i would of def held better.

        I'm on JB4, so map 7 is hotter than map 7 JB3. You really want to have meth to help deal with the IAT's that's created from our little snails/stock ic making 16+ psi. Temps last night were around 46 and even while that cold iat's would climb very fast. Not taking anything away from CLK550, his car is was the stronger performer. My shifts were good also, no bogs, delays, missed gears. I have my shift light set for 6800 and I was hitting each gear change hard.

        I think I would have no issues beating stockers with the way I ran last night also.

        your kiddin right.. not even 16 psi? lol.. autotune of any form is auto-DEtune.. once octane is guaranteed and not from meth, push the psi up.. that was your problem right thurr Click here to enlarge

        Yup, i know; Map7 on JB4 is made to take advantage of that higher octane, more boost more higher IAT, but you would of got ALOT more power out of it. You ran 100 octane to help your timing, but im sure it did help slightly but nothing as much as if you would have ran Map7. Should of used on the gas gauge for PSI/oil temp for IAT's and know when to cool down. But of course a AT from ym experience is always faster than a good running MT, sometimes by a good amount sometimes slightly, cant tell the case here.
        Any idea of the psi you were running last nite?

        I was using boost/iat on my gas/oil gauges. Boost was ~15psi, iat's ~130. The CLK was very consistent!

        I concur with the announcers on the video's,im suprised at the performance of the CLK actually. not enough to be even slightly worried, but still, surprised..

        what was the camera car? he seemed to be a bit faster than both..
