We already showed you the rear of the new ML but thanks to a German brochure we have now have pictures of the final and complete design. The pictures aren't the highest quality scans, but they show enough. The design is hardly ground breaking, pretty mild actually. The major difference seems to be the interior which is markedly improved. Expect an official reveal at Frankfurt. ...

The younger Schumacher continues to do well in DTM. Hey, at least one Schumacher is getting on the podium for Mercedes, right? A total of 6 Mercedes drivers finished in the top 10 but Audi took their second victory, making it 2-1 in their favor thus far in the season. Mercedes does still lead the driver and team standings but it's very tight, as DTM should be. ...

This is much better than your typical Autocar video. For one, the car isn't being tested while it's raining since they are not in Britain and instead in Spain. We suggest they make that a permanent change. The car looks and sounds fanstastic, great exhaust note. It's pretty surprising to hear the reviewer claim the C63 steering feel is better than that of the M3. That is a bold claim as Mercedes traditionally has lacked vs. BMW in this area. The reviewer also ends up saying the car is more entertaining than the M3 which is another bold claim. Direct comparison, please. ...

This video is in German but the video speaks for itself and just is ridiculously cool. GRIP took a MAN racing truck and pitted it against a C63 AMG on the road course for an atypical comparison. What is amazing in all of this is just how fast this race truck is! There is a part in the video where you see the truck coming up behind the C63 and we can imagine would it be like to have that monster in your rear view mirror. Intimidating, to say the least. Check out the video and skip to the 10:50 mark for the good head to head action after you see the drift in the beginning. ...

The Aston Martin Virage is the new GT in the Aston range designed to sit between the DB9 and DBS. The car has a 6.0 liter V12 putting out 490 horsepower. Auto Express, British auto-journalists, decided to compare it to the SLS AMG. We mentioned they were British for a reason, as they pick the Aston over the SLS, big surprise. Why? Well, actually they say they pick it because of the interior and because it is an Aston Martin. Seriously guys? The SLS as a performance car is lightyears ahead of the Virage sporting the tired old V12. The DBS isn't a match for the SLS, and neither is the lower performance Virage. ...

Ok, so this is a 1:12th scale Unimog and not the real thing. Still, this is the closest Americans can get to the Unimog and that isn't all bad. To commemorate the 60th birthday of the Unimog, Mercedes and LEGO teamed up to make this model. This is a LEGO Technic model, which means not for children under 10 or even some adults we know, so a more complex set. And more complexity is fine because that means the Unimog set comes with a fully functional pneumatic gripper arm. We are accepting Unimog sets to "test" if anyone from LEGO is reading... ...

You all may recall that RennTech set the overall MB 1/4 mile record of 10.27@137 a couple months back. We were given a mod list by the owner SGC and Renntech of drag radials, higher stall torque converter, limited slip diff, custom exhaust, modified intercooler, carbon ceramic brakes, and race gas only tune. We couldn't understand how this car on stock turbos was trapping so much higher than other M275 V12 twin turbo cars. It would seem the answer is nitrous as a video has popped up showing the lines in the engine bay, check it out yourself. ...

A Mercedes-Benz AMG inside source has confirmed the M156 V8 in a higher state of tune will be used in the C63 AMG Black Series. MotorAuthority and InsideLine who reported they confirmed an M157 twin turbo V8 would be used were wrong. It would appear P31 or SLS forged engine internals will be standard. It will not be an M159 (SLS motor) but will likely share similarities such as the heads but not the SLS intake manifold or airboxes due to not being able to fit in the C engine bay. Base price is expected to be $100k. ...

First of all, congratulations to SpeedDriven as well as the owner of this W211 E-class BenzBoost user V12GodSpeed. This has been a long and grueling project but that day that makes it all worth it is here with the twin turbo V12 powered beast finally running. This is essentially an EV12 swap which was made famous by the tuner Brabus although they charge over $300,000 for some of these M275 V12 conversions. To see a US shop without the resources of Brabus pull this off is a major achievement. Dyno graphs and further details coming soon, for now enjoy the pictures and video. ...

We are not sure what to say at this point but Mercedes-Petronas does not seem to be able to right their ship. Michael Schumacher was not able to complete the race and Nico Rosberg finished in 11th place, out of the points. Sebastian Vettel won again which we do not even know what to say at this point regarding his dominance, amazing. The good news for Mercedes is that the McLaren-Mercedes team finished in 3rd and 6th place with Jenson Button and and Lewis Hamilton respectively. Tough, tough season thus far for Schumacher and Rosberg. ...

Well here it is, finally. Car is basically the same as its gullwing coupe sibling except that it loses the gullwing doors which add so much character to the coupe. The car looks great as a roadster, just as it does in coupe form, and the transition came without much of a weight penalty. Only 40 additional kilograms for the reinforcement of the already stiff aluminum chassis. All other mechanicals remain identical to the coupe, so the same M156 563 horsepower 6.2 liter V8 and the same dual clutch transmission. The car goes on sale in the United States in the fall, this year. ...

Seems like everybody is tuning the SLS these days. German tuner MEC Design decided to get in on it and their offering is the standard fare. They offer a new front bumper with an LED option of course since that is the hot new thing. A modified rear diffuser with 3 options is available including a GT3 carbon fiber style diffuser. Side skirts are included as well with optional LED's just in case an SLS with the doors going up at your local Starbucks doesn't get you enough attention as is. ...

Earlier this year we reported there was a rumor going around that Mercedes was planning an AMG version of the GL. Turns out the rumors were true as the AMG version of the GL, the GL63, was spotted testing on the ring. There should not be any major surprises here, the powerplant will be the M157 twin turbo V8 we are all growing to love which produces plenty of torque which will be needed to move this behemoth. Considering the performance package version of the motor, which will be available for the GL63 as well, can move the nearly 5000 pound S-class to low 12's, this should be one quick SUV. ...

Congratulations, yet again, to Renntech for raising the bar for the SLR as well as the M113/M155 supercharged 55 AMG Mercedes V8. We had known about this run for a little while now but no proof was posted. Well, Renntech finally put a video up along with some specs validating the record. Renntech claims this SLR puts out 634 whp with a modified pulley, custom tuning, Renntech exhaust, and a high volume intercooler pump. The car was run with drag radials as well as with a new transmission cooler. ...

Mercedes continues to expand its lineup in a manner appealing to enthusiasts. The car has been given an internal development codename and is set to slot in around the $100,000 mark. It will be launching in 2014 and be powered a V8. We assume the M156 will be nearing the end of production if not out of production at that point which means it will likely be powered by an M157 twin turbo V8. The SLC is likely to share much of the drivetrain from the next generation SL. A big thumbs up to Mercedes for offering so many different performance options. ...
