It is always great to see independent results at the drag strip to put manufacturer claims and magazine times into context. Here we have a completely stock SL65 AMG. Street tires, pump gas, no mods at all. 11.75@120 on street tires with that much power is very respectable. This time is a baseline and the owner will be returning to the strip with mods to show their impact, that is what we like to see. ...Published on 01-03-2011 12:51 AM
This is a W221 S550 that caught our attention. Kind of hard to avoid a bright red S-class, isn't it? The rims are a matter of personal preference but the 22 inch forgiato rims are not our style. The designo interior is red as well to match the exterior. An S65 body kit was also added but we do not understand why the S65 badges were added to the S550? Makes the owner seem like a bit of a poser. It's different, that is for sure, but leave the fake badges and red pin stripes on wheels to the ricers. ...Published on 12-30-2010 10:06 PM
Diesel performance is something we think is going to gain significant ground over the next few years. With an ever increasing focus on efficiency and going "green" we think the American public will embrace diesels like never before. In the European market, diesels already account for the majority of the sales for BMW and Mercedes-Benz. These motors are slow to make their way over but cars like the E350 Bluetec show that diesels have come a long way. The Benz diesel is not quite as quick as the competition but still a great offering. Results below: ...Published on 12-29-2010 10:27 PM
Is this the 2012 C63 AMG? We don't know, but the photo has been circulating the web and has everyone talking. You can see a few subtle changes in the styling but the main question on the mind of everyone is if the motor will change. We say do not get too excited as there is no official confirmation of any of the speculation at the moment.

Auto Motor Und Sport, the German magazine, put up their rendering of the new W205 C-Class. What do we think? We like their interpretation of the new C. The headlights reflect the direction Mercedes is currently going although we do not know about the rear, it kind of reminds us of an Audi. It is just a rendering and the final product will likely be much different, so take it as such. ...Published on 12-28-2010 04:54 PM

Prior Design has released their body pieces and wheels for the new E-class coupe. A more aggressive front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts are included. They have two spoilers as well one for the roof and one for the bootlid. The vehicle is also lowered by 35mm. Prior Design 20 inch rims complete the look although the rims seem a bit gaudy to us. Pricing is as follows: ...Published on 12-27-2010 08:05 PM
This is a pretty funny commercial from Mercedes showing off their cars with all wheel drive. If you do not know who is driving the SL in this video, please leave and go to a different website. ...Published on 12-26-2010 08:04 PM
MHP is proud to announce it's first Group Buy in conjunction with Benzboost! In order to be eligible for GB pricing potential customers must be members of Benzboost; registration is quick, simple, and allows access to more real world late model MB/AMG tech than any other site on the net.
MHP S1 package: MHP v3 CDT on sale domestically (U.S. and Canada) for $2295 shipped (Canada add shipping surcharge) for otherwise stock vehicles, modified vehicles can tuned for an additional fee.
MHP v3 CDT has proven itself at the track, on the dyno and on the street to be the most potent remapping available for AMG M156/M159 variants. Gains are 65-70rwhp/30-35rwtq SAE on 93 octane, 5th gear, 1:1, DJ. ...Published on 12-26-2010 07:25 PM
Here we have a teaser video of a supercharged M156 V8 on he C63 AMG. There has been a lot of discussion of this not being possible and extremely difficult to excute. So far, it seems Weistec has been able to get the hardware down using a 2.3 liter twin screw supercharger. We do not know what boost they are running (likely somewhere in the 6-7 psi range if on pump) and we do not know the cost or even who is doing the tuning. More on this as it develops but we are glad to see this is being attempted and development is moving along. ...Published on 12-23-2010 04:55 PM
Piecha Design is a German tuner who specializes in Mercedes Benz applications. Pretty much the usual with wheels, front lip, diffuser, spoiler, and side skirts. The side skirts have a pretty tacky LED option which is a little too ricey for us. They also have an exhaust system as well as a module that raises the response time of the convertible top which is a nice touch. Pricing compared to other tuners is fairly reasonable, it is as follows: ...Published on 12-23-2010 01:40 AM
We all know the M275 V12 makes for a great tuning platform. However, not too many Maybach owners we would think opt for dyno tuning. OE Tuning recently had a customer with a Matte Black Maybach 57 come in for a dyno tune. The gains with just a tune only were 109 whp and 136 torque. Impressive? We would say so. We also would be the kind of crazy people who would take this thing to the strip and have our chaffeur rip off 12 second passes while we sipped on a '96 Krug in the back seat and waved. ...Published on 12-22-2010 02:14 AM
Wheelsandmore.de has released their tuning program for the Mercedes SLS. We really like their offering as they address all the areas of the car. They have suspension, brake, exhaust, wheel, interior, and engine upgrades available. None of it is cheap however as the German tuner is asking for quite a bit of cash. The wheels are 8,000 euros for a set for example. Click Read more to see the parts and pricing. ...Published on 12-21-2010 06:34 PM
Carlsson has released their take on the new CLS. Overall, we must say we are impressed as the styling looks great. Their body kit includes a front bumper and lip, hood, grille, sideskirts, and rear apron. 20 inch wheels complete the look and the car is obviously lowered. In addition to the styling changes Carlsson offers performance tunes for the diesel models in Europe as well as the 350 V6. Well done Carlsson, well done. ...
