ChuckD05 replied to the thread Just got E30 M30B35 Twin Turbo setup, need help....
" [QUOTE=Gabe1103;581965]short story, original owner of the car had lots of debt and left the car as a payment... the seller had absolutely no idea about the car or setup... neither do i... LOL so i bought it for cheap now i want to see if i can learn more about M30b35's and E30's.. and have a fun track or drift car... it was originally an e30 325is btw..

some issues with the car..
1. one side of the exhaust blows white greyish smoke only upon deceleration after a hard pull (two exhaust setup, 1 for each turbo) what could this mean?
2. im not sure how it is tuned..
3. im sure there is more but i've only driven the car once and now its back on stands since i had the wheels refinished...

im thinking of doing a single turbo instead of 2... the reason for this is almost all m30b35 setups i see on the net are all single turbo... and i get my info from the internet.

what do i need to get this to at least 300rwhp? "

Let me know "

I think you'll have that as well as some new players coming into the scene. Maybe AMS? Or companies like that. The ///M badge will attract more companies than the 335/n54 did. Just wait and see... "

Interesting race.. Owner of the M6 stated in another forum that it was 97 degrees out and he had a heavy passenger.. Non the less not bad for a V10 on stock air boxes and headers.. M6 is so beast in stock form.. I am not sure if this M is a smg or 6MT but if its smg doesnt sound like he is in the s6 setting..

of course it can - there's nothing magical about the N54 that precludes it from being modified to rev higher than 7000rpm and still make power.

fully built motor especially, when EVERYTHING is lightened+strengthened, there's nothing keeping it at 7000-7200 unless there's a software limitation present.
Did I just accidentally miss a 9000RPM N54 Show me the link please "

Even if the rev limiter would be removed, the engine would not rev much higher. But yes, also the piston speeds get high so that rev limiter should be set reasonable also for the longevity reason. "

I understand the N54 may never be a very high reving engine but there should be room to increase it past 7200rpm. Even increasing it to 8 or 8.5k, from looking at the dyno, would be a substantial increase in power.

To go on, why install VAC springs that can hit 10k rpm(claimed by vac) when there is zero valve float with the stock springs at this power level and rpm range?
8.5k would be a nice +18% on 7200rpm. However, the head does not flow enough for the stroke and it will choke before 8k. The power can increase until the flow exceeds sonic speeds when the power drops abruptly. "

With this information you can do nothing
Who build the setup?there is almost no information.

Please dont drive it hard because you do not know if it is tuned the right way way, your engine will blow up very fast.
Thanks for the reply "
