ROFL! The S65 is the best sounding V8 outside Maranello my friend...fitted with a proper exhaust. "

mrbillytalent created the thread Megasquirt experience.
" Has anyone ever used this engine management before? I am looking into putting an n54 into something fun and have read too many horror stories with the immobilizer and swapping over other modules, so I'm looking into the possibility of standalone tuning an n54. I'm pretty sure there is a Megasquirt unit that can handle direct injection, however if need be it might just be easier to switch over to port injection
(which could save me troubles when moving on to single turbos).

Has anyone done this before?
Am I insane?

I appreciate your guys' help, I hope to one day be a big part of this community as well! "

alex@ABRhouston replied to the thread STFT Banks 1 & 2 - What is normal ?.
" No, making it more rich will make the additive value in MS come down from high positives, and multiplicatives will lower the percentage..... positive on either one is the DME adding fuel, negative on either one is the DME removing fuel.

Zero on either value is what you are shooting for (perfect) because that means your main map is on target. the additives and multiplicatives are there technically to adjust for fuel octane differences, elevation, air leaks, restrictions and wear.

sounds like the beginning of WOT area on the map needs more fuel specifically then.

edit: looking at those logs, 20-30% positive needs to be corrected, IMO. The car is adding 20-30% more fuel over the entire fuel map to compensate. On any normal car, this would totally set codes for those being out of range, and would have done so around 12-15%.... "

singletrack replied to the thread Quick update - YSI at 21 psi and C16.
" [QUOTE=Sticky;559553]Gintani is working on to get my car ready for Shift Sector this weekend.

The good news? The DCT is holding 21 psi from the YSI just fine on C16. The blower has more room in it but we're not going to push much further than that right now. Just want to get it reliable for the event and push the envelope later. I could probably ask for a couple more pounds of boost if necessary.

How much power is it making? We don't know. It's spinning the tires on the dyno. It will be somewhere in the 800's right now probably.

The car is not hooking in 2nd or 3rd gear. Alex said he needs a good coilover setup to tweak it and I told him that's fine. Whether we get the suspension sorted in time for better weight transfer is anyone's guess he will get back to me with pricing details.

I am going to go to longer gearing once I can. "

Good thinking - I'll take both also : P

In reality, what I see is that most of the guys that I know that fly private borrow their friend's plane. Even at that, they pay for the landing fees, fuel, and pilots. That alone can run you 5k for a simple trip from Pittsburgh to a semi-close airport like Chicago or New York.

Amex pushes these private jet services but I've never used one. In reality, I have never flown private although I have been invited to...didn't work out. My wife has a number of times because she works with said ballers. It is pretty dope. She drives her car up to the jet, gets out, walks on plane and sits down. They valet her car. When they land, car is pulled up next to plane. Compare/contrast that to the modern experience, even with precheck, and there is no comparison.

On yachts - you are in another league there. That is crazy money and the thought of being out at sea in a storm somewhat scares me. "

You looking?

They definitely will. Regardless of whether it is, or is not a better car, many people will upgrade to simply have the latest and greatest. With the number of e9x M's produced, and the increased production of M4/M3 (I presume), you should be able to get an awesome bargain. Good luck; they are amazing cars that stack up to anything out there IMHO. "

you don't hear the chatter sometimes because the rpm stays higher. I wish i could raise the rpm to about 800-900rpm at idle to eliminate the chatter at stoplight. Chatter gets bad with the ac on. "

BMW would not be the first to do this, but I've yet to see anyone accuse them of it. It is apparently standard operating procedure for Ferrari - more or less. See Chris Harris rant/accusations which got him banned from testing Ferrari's : ) "

" I was surprised by this. Also, comparing to a DCT eh...compare as close a spec as possible - DCT adds substantial weight.

I'm pretty sure I've seen e92's w 6-speeds weigh pretty close to that (3500s). Definitely not the weight reduction I was expecting. I think we will have to wait for the next gen, which I presume will have a CFRP chassis for a real reduction. Problem is, yes they focused on weight, they also focused on making the car larger. I think I can also speak for Gordon Murray when I say that they made it pointlessly wider as well. A number of cars are beginning to look stupid-wide to me.

This is why Ferrari uses Aluminum chassis for their cars. Even at that, the 458 Italia weighs almost 3300 lbs. Main reason I'm looking for a 430 Scuderia which weighs 2950lbs and is much more fun to drive. "
