I'm not being stubborn, i'm not trolling, i'm trying to reach a point of understanding when you realize i'm not wrong, you're just arguing the wrong thing.
just because i don't have a piece of...

because no amount of links/information is too much.. and ELI5 is best ELI
10-09-2014, 10:20 PM
the only thing i'm saying.. ONE THING.. is that peak acceleration occurs at peak torque in any given gear
you can argue about that all you want, you'll never be correct.
it's quite simply how...

is that because water has a higher heat capacity?
but wouldn't meth's ability to absorb heat faster in the phase change be more effective?
time to find some articles then..
10-09-2014, 07:40 PM
yeah it probably does come up once a month hahaha- you'd think people would understand it by now
I shouldn't be surprised though...
i'm not disagreeing that the person with more horsepower wins...
10-09-2014, 07:36 PM
sooo... has it hit the dyno yet?
10-09-2014, 07:35 PM
and you seem to have forgotten that gears multiply torque, not power
you don't get more horsepower at the wheels from gearing directly.. you get more torque at the wheels, which happen to be...
i noticed that too
not sure if intentional
don't care either way though.
10-09-2014, 07:31 PM
love the second logo, much more direct
eye doesn't get drawn to the person - first logo, all i can look at is the person
second logo, you see the important information much more quickly and...

yeah, peak horsepower will accelerate faster over an entire gear
peak torque accelerates fastest at that moment
that's what i'm saying
you're not wrong, but you're not 100% correct
10-08-2014, 08:06 PM
makes sense... not sure how this is showing it as a separate entity when it's still branded "VTT" though?
the new logo DOES catch the eye pretty well.
10-08-2014, 06:14 PM
would make sense if it wasn't still VTT - nothing else in your lineup is all.. i dunno.. sherrif? themed.
maybe without the guy? just the gun
You say 'separate' yet VTT*logo* is right up the...

So you're not entirely wrong about the whole power thing, but you need to go one step back in the calculation to how RPM, torque, and gearing all work together.
peak HP being not at peak torque...
10-08-2014, 05:49 PM
peak torque in any given gear, provides the most acceleration IN THAT GEAR.
that's what i'm saying..
and it's correct.
peak acceleration at a given RPM is NOT at peak horsepower,...
10-06-2014, 08:08 PM
Because some corners aren'e balls-out high speed? :/.. maybe not 3500, but low-mid range RPM nonetheless..
Gearing is based on torque values as well as RPM
more Torque you can lengthen the...
10-06-2014, 06:21 PM
ahh right ok, so you do only care about straight line acceleration stuff?
fair enough then, yeah, the higher peak power/higher revving car likely has the advantage in that stake. Let alone the...
10-06-2014, 06:20 PM
Oh wow, what circuit (you know, a track with corners) do you lieve near where you'll never get to low RPM's? And you plan on never racing on anything but?
Unless you mean pure 1/4 mile and highway...

400 ft-lb at 3500rpm, 675 at 4750, 525 @ 7000
325 ft-lb at 3500 rpm, 425 @ 4750, 550 @ 7000
no reason the N54 can't go past 7... and it's a fair bit before 4000 too.
10-05-2014, 01:48 AM
having a look at the graphs.. The Ghost is right.. it's not narrow in the slightest, it's much MUCH wider.
just take a look.
10-04-2014, 09:06 PM
is it impossible to get even a 6MT N54 to have a higher redline with the stock DME?.. wouldn't think with this turbo kit, it wouldn't hold power to 7600... didn't think anyone had tried?
10-04-2014, 09:03 PM
so what was changed between cutout best and 3.5" best to get the 3.5" to make more power than the cutout?
intercooler more efficient?
bring back rotary!
how interesting would a hybrid turbo rotor be now...
diesels could be just TOO efficient and stout still maybe.
.... hybrid turbo diesel rotor - done.
boost pressure doesn't matter so much as the mass.. 30psi on a 3076 is nothing like a 35r/6766 or something.
ah thanks, so in an existing post, gotcha.
