yeah i'm not too sure what the holdup for them is - as far as i remember reading, N54 vs N55 that are cobb tuneable, is still apples and oranges.. just 'better' tuning on the N54.
More interest =...
I don't think valvetronic is complicating anything as much as the whole uncracked DME is?
well for years the 'most powerful' S54's didn't keep VANOS either, (as far as i'm aware, they're STARTING...
Or more torque..
So no, not always at all
yeah, for maximum fasts revs+torque.. but would you rather not optimize how soon that torque comes on?.. if we're talking a proper track car, many...
Low RPM in a turbo motor means spool.. better response as well
lower RPM with more/broader torque = longer life for a similar power output, compared to 9k RPM.
Technology like this allows (to...

i thought the sensors were all able to differentiate between cylinders with the exhaust pulses?
TIL they don't. Guess its a bit too hard for them to achieve that
still, the benefits that can be seen across the entire rev range in torque/power should pretty well negate the potential RPM limit.. it's still capable of revving to 8k odd.
But being it's a 6cyl, shouldn't there be next to no 'power pulse variation'?
yeah, but now there's no foreground (like the sides used to be black, now ALL white)
and even the front forum page is a LOT taller than it used to be....

that's another component that's kinda odd to see hold up to so much abuse without complaint. the springs sure do seem to be way stronger than needed.
layout scaling horribly (text overlap etc.) compared to old one on my screens :/ (half inch to inch gaps between objects where there was almost none before, and a few inches of wasted space either...
N55 also has VANOS, i can't remember if the N55 had more or less adjustability in it though.
valvetronic just allows variable lift and duration
unless the valvetronic system has issues at the...

it's simultaneously simpler and more complicated, watching how it's evolved
The talented people working on it are pretty handy at working out solutions to the odd problems
the DI allows for a...

It shouldn't be difficult, it's 'i'm pretty sure, if anyone else wants to say the opposite from a point of greater knowledge, I won't start $#@!' ..
Given the fact there are many, vastly more...

i don't think anyone has yet brought up lifting a head, so apparently the stock bolts are pretty nice at least? (though no one has run more than what.. 35lb or so, and even at that, fairly briefly?
it's probably still worth discussing as it'll be reached sooner rather than later either way i'd think?
i thought these primarily injected in the intake stroke or half intake half compression or something?
09-23-2014, 05:12 PM
plans to drop compression or keep same for said built motor testing?
it's called sartalics.
There's a lot more people modding golfs too, and with the platform sharing (golf/jetta/skoda/audi etc.), there's a lot more that are similar compared to the N54.. just a massive market.
so... the evo was faster?
really hard to tell, didn't seem like there was a good run in the bunch.

yeah not much of this is any new info from the last identical announcement they made months ago :/
they're really teasing it for a long time, i wonder what the holdup is.
the graphs look...

has anyone made more torque than that on any setup on the N54?
been wrong for over 12 months
same with their catalogues
and again, retailers are willing to take your money for a product that apparently doesn't exist.
F32,F33,F36,F82,F83: I'm not saying they couldn't, of course they...
I'm not saying they couldn't, of course they could... There's just little point as seconds is a HUGE deal already.
yeah but when their own website and product catalogs say N54 with the relevant part numbers, and all their retailers are willing to take peoples money for a product that potentially doesn't exist......
