To clear up a couple things - pretty much every M3, M4, M5, and M6 (and every AMG equivalent, for that matter) ever dyno'd has come in at much higher ratings than given by the factory. This isn't...

Lol there is nothing Audi about an Aventador, except for some of the interior switches and the infotainment system, which is a good thing. Lamborghinis are not terrible cars now that someone with...

I think it's a good thing overall, because like someone said in the other thread, it's like a worst-case-scenario number. You know that under almost any circumstances, it's going to make *at least*...

Nope, only GM does it as far as I know...the other two American manufacturers might but I can't remember exactly. The Germans do not. And that's totally fine with me, I like looking at...

I don't get what there's not to get here...this silly argument that modern turbo cars have these magical drivetrains that are almost 100% efficient is just BS...again...you made the point that cars...

Has to be a ringer, GM SAE certifies its power output so they don't really do the "underrating" game. That trap sped gives it all away, that car is making over 500 hp and there's no way any...

It all starts to run together after a while, I probably spend about 10x as much time as is healthy reading articles about cars. I'll try to find it and post it here.

Yeah. Although I'm ok with it. In my "old" age I've learned to really dislike any 4 cylinder engine note that isn't a Porsche 919 or cross-plane sport bike.

Here's the thing...tell me why an F80 M3 traps like 6-7 mph higher than an E90 M3 with supposedly ~the same crank hp? We all know that trap speed is related to hp, there's no getting around it. ...

I think whatever the M2 ends up being, it will be the better driver's car with RWD, proper engine orientation, and potentially more real-world power/torque plus the sound of an I6. I hope they don't...

I'll try to dig it up, I thought I actually saw it on here but maybe not. I don't even know what to google, I'll have to get back to you on that but I'm fairly confident I saw this. Would make...

Those wheels probably aren't that heavy, hell there's a chance they're lighter than some of the stock wheel options. Thin tires, yes, but not everyone uses drag radials. I think it's always good to...

I think once they figure out the ECU these will be very fast. However these engines require internals to make serious power, just not quite as strong as the Mezger.
The good thing is that they...

Crazy. These things are monstrous, if nothing else. I can't get over that engine note at all but they sure are powerful.
06-26-2015, 03:52 PM
Yeah they did kind of shoot themselves in the foot with that. Some of the RS4 dyno sheets I've seen are pitiful...
I wish they had done something like that, although margins might not be big...

Good point I always forget the SL. I've noticed people say this about a lot of cars without much body roll, or cars that have systems that mitigate it. Like Porsche PDCC, some complain that this...

ABC is much more reliable on the newer cars, really the W215 CL and the W220 S are the cars that have the most problems with it. Also, by the time they got to the S65 and CL65, they had improved it...

The M3 is definitely the faster car and puts more power to the wheels, however I always chalked that up to the Audi's super-heavy AWD drivetrain and the fact we all know the RS5 is a fat, heavy pig. ...

The other thing is that quarter mile performance at this track seems to be seriously stunted. Even big-hp GTRs and Gallardos don't do as well there as they do at other places, it seems. Power...

How so? 450 hp vs. 414, 317 tq vs. 300, I think the Audi engine revs to 8500 in this latest applicant vs. 8400 for the BMW but I might be wrong. I think it's a heavier engine, and the DI makes for...

I just always picture some Russian guy talking to someone else about his car:
"It makes...1200 horsepowers!"
" - no it doesn't"
"....Alright it makes 900 horsepowers!!"
" - dude it's...

I had thought I heard that Porsche will use 2.7 and 2.9, for the non-S and S cars respectively, to differentiate them further. Nobody knows for sure though.

This thing was a no-go from the time it came out, it was the heaviest, slowest, most understeer-y, and most expensive back then. Now...I don't know who in their right mind would buy it, unless you...

Just remember...this car is running a piggyback and some meth...that's it. And sounds like there's still some optimization being made? And imagine with 93 octane, which is an option where I live.

Look at one in person and tell me it's "simple looking"...style is subjective, but to my eye it is 10x the looker that the awkward P1 and the relatively tame LF are.
This is, to me, the best car...
