Benchmark your computer - Official BimmerBoost Computer Benchmark Standings

Ok, with my new laptop ordered I thought it would be cool to see how this one will compare to the new one. So, I downloaded 3dmark Vantage which is the hot new benchmarking software and ran the tests.

I thought it might be cool to just make this a benchmark thread where everyone can see how their computers compare. It's like a nerd dick measuring contest. Also if you have some solid hardware the benchmark is cool as it has some amazing cutting edge graphics. Anyway, here is what you do.

    1. Download 3Dmark Vantage (it's free) : http://www.3dmark.com/3dmarkvantage/download/
    2. Install it with default settings
    3. Run it with default settings
    4. Don't worry about if it stutters while running the tests, it is designed to tax systems heavily.
    5. Click submit your score when it is done.
    6. Post your score 3dmark score here with details on your system with the link provided by the program.

fail application, it errors out before it even begins. Might be drivers. Will update and see if it works then. Their support site says download the latest version, which I have...but doesn't seem to work.

lol, yes, but you should know this is a graphics benchmark. For a CPU test, most go with PCMark.

It isn't as powerful as I thought it would be. There will be desktops on here that someone has that will take it easily.

    Run it, it's great.

    Mine is a mobile card...

It isn't just a graphics benchmark, for the overall score it also runs 2 cpu benchmarks.

Right, but the majority of the marks are from GPU performance, that's where you gain the most. If I ran this with my 8800 GTX on the same spec'd, the marks would be much lower.

Well yes, it is supposed to show how strong your computer is a gaming platform but the CPU is a strong part of that of course.

Yep. I remember when people would upgrade their graphics card and wonder why performance gains were minimal. The CPU bottlenecking the GPU.

I can't wait to see what you get on the M18x Click here to enlarge those dual 6970s will tear this benchmark a new one.
