    Nissan GTR R35 headed to FIA GT3

    NISMO is jointly advancing the development of the FIA GT3 specification NISSAN GT-R with JRM( for those who don't know JRM race a pair of GTR's in the FIA GT1 World Championship), with the car scheduled to make a number of test appearances in Europe and Japan during the 2011 season, ahead of the car becoming available to customer teams in 2012. JRM will be the official motorsport partner of NISMO for the project, in charge of on-going testing, development and production of the car & parts in Europe, whilst also taking care of customer sales and support throughout UK, Europe, Russia and the Middle East territories

    They have the best grid of all the series. The MP4-12c is going to join the field in 2012 as well.

    Yes, you missed the 458 Italia GT3 and MP4-12c GT3 and also the Alpina, the Spyker and the Morgan are no longer part of the field.

    UPDATE

    Confirmed that the the GT3 version had a markedly different engine note to the GT1 vehicles, suggesting it is likely powered by the VR38 rather than a V8.
