    Renntech breaks their own CLS63 AMG / M157 twin turbo V8 1/4 mile record with a 10.90@128.9

    The Renntech Stage 2 tune made an impressive debut on the drag strip propelling the first CLS63 AMG into the 10's as well as the first M157 5.5 liter twin turbo V8. That was done with a run of 10.98@129.4. Renntech has managed to improve on this by almost one full tenth with a run of 10.90@128.96. The 60 foot in this latest run is 1.703 versus the previous 1.797 which explains the better ET as well as the slight drop in trap speed. Congratulations on the new overall M157 record!

    You will find that the crank numbers are around 670HP. Now this is with the tune and exhaust and lighter wheels and tires.

    Renntech claim that the CLS2012 is underrated posting a dyno sheet of the NON-PP making 483 against a PP making 516, and claiming that it is underrated from the factory (I still dont know how) . They tuned the NON-pp making it 583 , a gain of 100HP. One thing is true, that the gains are real, and yes, the 100Hp has been achieved by tuners other than renntech long ago.

    - diffrent dynos read diffrent numbers. This is a German car, In Germany they put this car on a dyno MAHA, which gives crank numbers. Look at this dyno, same car diffrent tune, (this was the tuner that Andy from MHP was working with). by the way, the NON-PP in Europe make more power than the NON-PP in the US due to emmission standards.

    look at the wheel and drag power, you can see that the gains are over 100RWHP. The stock numbers are 528 and the tuned numbers are 627 (crank numbers)

    I'm just explaining why I think they went that direction. I have seen a 2012 CLS63 Bin Yas drag strip in UAE. It had an ECU tune only. Car was completetly stock, runing stock wheels and tires. it made passes @ 11.7-11.9. This was not long ago. That CLS also had the Renntech tune. The same day A C63 with headers+tune was runin @ 11.8
    I certainly did not see it run 11.2

    Why does it matter if they did a weight reduction? In order to gain almost a second at the strip they would have needed to drop 700-1000lbs. How in the world would they have done that?

    Im happy for them. I saw this motor make 508whp with a really base tune from OE Tuning....I'm sure it has more in it...

    You are just speculating they did though. They listed all the mods and I have no reason to doubt Renntech.

    Got to remember RENNtech Software revision it's the key for more torque & power figures not posted publicly yet for latest 1/4 mile times of 10.9sec@ 129'smph run. Along, the supported hardware upgrade was LSD, slicks, & light exhaust mods. No weight reduction it's needed & I don't think owner would be pleased to remove parts from her car.
