Mercedes introduces the 2013 SLS AMG GT with 583 horsepower

Introducing the new higher performance Mercedes SLS AMG GT. This 2013 vehicle will be replacing the standard SLS and will be available in coupe or roadster form. In addition to a boost of 20 horses the car also gets revised dual clutch transmission programming likely to improve driveability as well as improve shifting performance. The suspension also gets a performance update with a revised air suspension system that is now called AMG Ride Control Performance.

Pricing has not been announced for the United States yet but the vehicle will go on sale in November in the USA. This model should have no impact on the SLS Black Series which is still in the pipeline as well as the all electric SLS.

Oh ok I can see how you would assume that but I'd like to see the source because everything else I've read doesn't mention transmission changes - the following article states:

"Torque output remains the same at 479 pound-feet and the same seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission is on tap as before."

It's the same model of transmission but the programming has been changed:

Changes to the transmission programming are said to decrease shift times
