Thumbs up Ohlins DFV Road and Track Coilovers

I heard about these from my friends in Europe and I am really thinking long and hard about ditching my GC coilovers for these. They look absolutely stunning and im sure will have excellent performance. Here is some info off of their site:

A more than 30 year long tradition of high-end racing commitments and state-of-the-art solutions within advanced suspension technology is now available for street cars all over the world.

The focus has been clear from the very beginning

    – superior road handling without sacrificing comfort in your day-to-day transports. The time of compromises are over!

We have also added a clever light-weight design with a majority of the parts in aluminium and on top of that all shocks have suffered through vast corrosion tests according to ISO 9227. The end result is a 2-year limited warranty on all of our products - worldwide.

    General Features

    *DFV (Dual Flow Valve)

    *Rebuildable

*Corrosion salt spray tested (ISO 9227)

    *2 year Limited Warranty

    Front

    McPherson Strut

    *Single bleed adjuster

    *Spring preload adjuster

(approx. 15 mm lower than standard)

    *Coil Springs (rate 60N/mm)

    *Dustcovers

*Use with original top mounts or camber plates

    Rear

    Conventional Shock Absorber

    *Single bleed adjuster

*Separate spring preload adjuster (approx. 15 mm lower than standard)

    *Coil Springs (rate 70N/mm)

    *Dustcovers

    *Use with original top mounts

They do look very, very nice.

How much are these and what makes them better than your ground control coil-overs?

those are really nice they are located in NC I dont have an e46 but im very happy with my GC coilovers. I know that hp autowerks also sells them for the e9x crowd with custom spring rates etc. I also saw them on the bmw m3 racecar at alms. Also if youre looking for a similar set up to your GC (assuming you camber plate etc) I'm guessing 3k plus and you only get a 2yr warranty.

As I mostly do street driving now I am planning on getting the Ohlins, the GC are great but cost an arm and a leg to replace the shocks when needed. I'll sell the GCs to recover some money later and no way will the Ohlins cost me 3k Click here to enlarge

Sure Bro, I'll try to hook you up with one of my US Suppliers who will assist you. Once more systems are released in Nov/Dec then i'll have a look at what options for the dampers are available from OHLINs. I am pretty sure though that they can do the custom rate dampers easily for you.

They only offer the stock 335 dampers. The m3 shocks I have mount differently to the rear lower control arms. So i need 2 different sets of dammpers from 2 different model cars
