I'll be honest, every time I see you guys post your numbers I get confused.

Is this a dyno graph of the C63 without the P31 Performance Package or with?

Also, quoting your website, "Through countless house of dyno testing the Velos Designwerks has been able to increase the Naturally aspirated V8ís power to 497 BHP and 477 lb-ft of torque (SAE Corrected). This is an increase of over 16% in HP." Even with a non-P31 vehicle the hp is 451 so that means you added 46 hp. Yet you say you increase by 92 hp which would equal 543 hp. Is the 16% hp increase in rwhp or hp at the crank?

What exactly does your tune do? 497 hp or 543 hp? Your dyno shows 100 hp gains, but you say 92 hp gains in your text so that doesn't match either and makes this even more confusing.

Even further, you have 2 different dyno result images. The one you posted here and then another one on Flickr which is also for the C63 and shows more detailed numbers, but don't match the one posted in this thread.
    Click here to enlarge http://www.flickr.com/photos/velosde...n/photostream/

It's great to see the market becoming more competitive and I believe you have a strong tune, but I'd like to see less confusing or contradicting numbers. Which dyno should we be looking at? What is the total estimated hp or rwhp that this tune will give?

I would think that baseline is a standard C63.

Correct, a standard 2012 car. 2012 Cars show different gains due to the transmission. I did not include the text on purpose and will clarify.

    Hey Guys,

Sorry for any confusion which we may have caused.

To answer a few questions, the stock run is from a standard C63 not a P31. A P31 model will dyno higher stock but will achieve the same peak figures as a standard model once tuned.

The chart used in the original post was used in error. That chart is from a C63 equipped with our tune and an x-pipe, modified exhaust and filters.

    Here are the charts:

Yes, absolutely. A tune is the best mod you can make on the car other than forced induction of course.

Jeez these gains are awesome. Great to see that there is a way for the end user to flash it themselves.

Slightly off topic, but does the C63 BS have a freer flowing exhaust than standard or are there even stronger gains to be made with an aftermarket XPipe?

    Hey,

We tune each car individually and we can absolutely maximize the gains on an 08-11 as well; however, they tend to dyno ~15 rwhp less by average. In my opinion the power is lost through the transmission as that is the main difference between the 08-11 and the 12 models.

Hey, I just answered a similar question on another thread. So i've quoted the answer below, it may answer your question.

Well ~452 rwhp SAE corrected, we've been reprimanded for not posting SAE charts before.

We like to concentrate on the difference/gain and not just the figure. Although dyno's are used for comparison all around the world, the same car may dyno within a 10 horsepower range on different dyno's in the same city and conditions. We've tested this in the past for fun.

However, as mentioned whether SAE or STD the difference is the same and thats ~40 rwhp gain.

Also keep in mind the C63 Black Series engine is supposed to have a few technical updates to be closer to the SLS 63's engine as far as specs.
Just quoted myself, i think thats kind of funny. Haha.

Thanks for explaining things further. The same question came up on MBW and was never really answered. I've seen the progress you guys have done on the BMW's and am quite impressed.

If I had the extra money to throw around I'd get all the different handheld tunes so I could dyno them to see the differences on one car and take out the hand built motor and other mod factor.

Just to confirm, you were running stock headers or customer headers on this car? Also, what is modified about the exhaust?

Yes it's on stock headers and 93 octane. An xpipe and resonators removed.
