F1 2012 - Mercedes AMG GP Korean Grand Prix Qualifying Results: Rosberg 9th and Schumacher 10th
Mercedes had a better qualifying session that last week in Japan. Nico Rosberg was able to grab 9th and Schumacher 10th. The car looked fairly stronger and more well suited for the Korean track.
They easily made it into Q3 but at the start of the third session both Mercedes drivers parked their cars near the pit lane exit and sat there. When both driver finally left the pits they chose not to set a time and went straight back to the pits. near the end of the session, they went back out and set times that were good for ninth and tenth.
Team RBR looked on form and dominated the session, but it was Mark Webber that nabbed pole position. Vettel had his chance for pole, but a bad first sector could only net him second place. Lewis Hamilton, next years Mercedes driver starts third. World championship leader Alonso has a tough task ahead of him as he starts 4th, behind him is Kimi Raikkonen, then Felipe Massa. Crash happy Grosjean starts 7th, behind him in 8th is Nico Hulkenberg in his Mercedes-powered Force India.

Driver and Team Comments
"Ninth place was the maximum that we could have achieved today. We set up the car well but we're lacking the performance to challenge any further towards the front. We're working hard to improve the situation, and hopefully our race pace will be better and we can score some decent points here in Korea. The track layout here and the cooler temperatures should suit to us more than in the recent races, so I'm looking forward to the race tomorrow."
"The positive aspect about today's performance was that we made a step forward relative to last weekend and got into Q3. But overall, it was an average kind of day. We were expecting to end up somewhere between positions eight and ten, but things didn't go quite right in the final sector of my quick lap. Looking ahead to tomorrow, I think we can hope to look quite respectable: our long runs were quite good, as were the tyres. Let's see how the race unfolds."
