New Epic Race Movie? - Rush (2013)

So as great as the Fast & Furious movies are, they lack any story line besides cars and hot chicks. For people that are race enthusiasts, specifically F1, I highly recommend watching Senna. While browsing Apple Movie Trailers today, I found this new movie trailer posted called Rush.

I'm not crazy about Chris Hemsworth (Thor actor), but he looks like he'll fit the role & the movie looks REALLY good. Hopefully Hollywood does ruin the story line (since this is based on the rivalry between two actual racing drivers from the '70s).

Hey, a racing movie for adults!

I remember seeing something about a movie called "Rush" and I was hoping it was about the band, but this looks good.

I have been following this movie, since I saw Ron Howard at Monaco GP last year talking about production.

    Looks very good.

If you follow racing, you definitely have heard of it.

Trailer was already posted but it deserves its own thread.

    Cinematography in this is amazing.

    The blonde girl is amazing.

    Ya I'll go see it.

I saw Ron Howard on Top Gear Monday night. He talked a bit about this movie before he drove the reasonably priced car. Obviously his timing as a guest on the show was not coincidental. I think the dynamic between the personalities of James Hunt and Niki Lauda is going to make this movie awesome. And Olivia Wilde is in it, so that's a plus.

His personal time around the Top Gear track was by no means an indication for the driving in the movie Click here to enlarge
He was absolutely right about that.
But everything I've seen about this movie makes me want to go to the cinema.
If only to wash away the filthy taste the last "F1 movie" Driven left behind...

I laughed out loud when he said that.

I was excited about Driven when I heard it was coming out, but then I read some reviews and figured I wouldn't waste time or money watching it. It's got Stallone it in - that should tell you something. It's an action movie that just happens to have some race cars in it.

I'm much more excited about Rush. Ron Howard is an amazing director, and it sounds like he has a great vision for this movie. He's got A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13 under his belt. Renny Harlin, on the other hand, has Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger - another Stallone "classic".

I think Ron Howard has the right idea about special effect in that they should augment the suspension of disbelief, not be a chief tenet of the movie even above plot.

looks like it'll be a great film! It's like they're finally making real car movies. Although, I was kind of secretly hoping this had some tie-in the the classic N64 game Rush.... ah well legit anyways
