Fair, you won't find a nicely treated 996 for under $30k. And the Maximum PSI Stage 1 kit is under $10k, I think the Stage 2 (upgraded fueling system for stock motor application) mite be just over $10k once tax is added in.

    I have owned a 370z and now the 335i....

the 370z is a nice car but there are a ton of haters of it, 350z owners being one of them...

I loved my 370z... quick car I went 12.92@109 in the 1/4 with it... thats good for like 5th on dragtimes but a few crazy guys with weight reduction and a lot fo seat time got down to mid 12s....

The car handles better than the 335i. It has a VLSD with is better than the open diff in the 335i.... Put one on the 335 it may balance out but thats not stock. The suspension is great in the Z but its only 2 seats and something I grew tired of... I wanted a trunk and back seats so i got a 135i... You will miss the Tq and the Tq is what made me forget the Z but now a year or two later I miss the Z again... one sexy car for sure... lmk anything else you want to know about it
Damn that is a sexy car.... I really need to go take a look at one in person. Could any of you 370Z owners give me any more opinions about the car's interior/power/handling versus the 335i? How is the manual tranny compared to ours?

Also, are there any bad blind spots compared to the 335i? Seems like that body would have some...

My buddy went from a 135i FBO + meth to a stock 370z and traded it for an Evo x a month later. It was too slow coming from the 135i. Sure it handled great but its slow comparatively speaking and costs a bunch to FI to make it fast.

Do you want to mod the new car? (Dumb question, I know lol) I so how much are you looking to spend? Is that counted in the $30k? Is being as fast or faster than the 335i mandatory?

Mandatory? No. Hopefully close? Yes. Id like to mod it, but that is not factored into the cost. I probably would enjoy it for a while as it is after i get it and wait to mod later on.

Id prefer not to drop any large sums of cash on mods too. Like i love turbo S2Ks and other built cars, but i would prefer not to lose the money (if you know what i mean).

Typically... and I hate to use that word for fear of being labeled a fanboy..., unless u buy a GTR or something of that class after having a tuned 335i... you cry a few months down the road. You will just have to find out on your own.

He's telling the truth. Trust me. My EVO is the funnest and fastest car I've ever driven but I miss my 335i SO much. Miss the refinement, luxury, looks on people's face when you drive by, etc. Evo is a great weekend warrior but 335i is the best DD.

Thanks for the opinions. I might just grab some coilovers to tighten up the car (which is my major complaint).

I say dump the procede for a jb4 G5, get DCI and FMIC and a set of coilovers. It'll be like a whole new car. You'll love it for sure.

Every car on your list has more performance potential than the 335i in terms of outright HP. For the money I would go with the GT or Vette. They are very different cars from a 335i IMO. But stellar performers all around with the right mods.

The FRS/BRZ is a very tossable and fun car but it lacks HP and needs another 50-75 crank HP to balance it out IMO. Still for $27-28k you can get a fully loaded FRS with NAV, TRD Exhaust and Rear Spolier its a nice starter but its no HP killer. The market for the car is still developing as well.

It's a sabaru motor though. And FI a non-stock FI motor. Can't see it holding up real long boosted.

Damn! Thats $#@!ing awesome. I love tuner cars so that doesnt bother me. Too bad i couldnt morally handle shelling out the $ for the turbo kit and never getting a 'return on investment' of sorts when i sell it.... If the car had 250+ HP from factory i would have bought it over the 335i

How much are used Supra's selling for? Ive always thought that they were like $40k for a nice example...

To list a couple options that haven't been posted yet.

    Golf R
    CTS V
    E39 m5
    w203 C55/Clk 55
    Audi TT-S

Lots of people will suggest the e55, but watch out. The early W211s need 16 spark plugs and have airmatic suspension, so maintenance isn't cheap.
