Funny you mention that. One of my life-long best friends drives a 5.0 w/ track pack and she said she would let me drive it.

Im going to be calling the insurance company within the next day or two to get a quote on:

    2011-2013 Mustang GT 5.0
    2009+ Nissan 370z
    2003-2004 C5 Z06
    2008+ C6 LS3

Hopefully the C5Z wont be too horrible compared to the 335i.... I mean, being under 25 y/o and being male, im already paying top dollar. If i could sell the car for mid 20's and then buy a C5Z and pocket 5-7k, id be thrilled. Would afford me a nice coilover kit and some exhaust Click here to enlarge

Here's my debacle. For $30k to me, hands down the winner is the e46 m3. It offers the best overall experience out of any car for $30k. I've owned a few sports cars and have driven nearly everything under the sun. Can't beat the e46. Now another 10k puts you into a whole different league. 400 hp is the norm, bolt ons can make 600 hp, and driving thrill is increased tremendously. But for the sake of this argument, the e46.

What about an F body with a mid sized turbo good for the street? 700whp wouldn't even be breaking a sweat and you wouldn't even be in it for any where near $30K. A good low mileage F body can be had for less than $10K and $10K in mods/labor will get it done.

Would have to be 335i for me --- it seemed that every $500 mod turned it into a totally different car Click here to enlarge

On the street, torque and performance awards lots of smiles; having a stock-looking 335i with the mods to catch most performance cars off guard is priceless. As a daily driver, I think I'd rather have my old modded MT 335i over my current DCT M3.

And another $30K for maintenance or any repair... Let's remember that this was a $90K car.

i wouldn't own a German car without a warranty. Better believe I'd be getting an extended if I bought a Merc or Bimmer.

Wow no votes for the 5.0 huh? I'm waiting to hear back from my buddy with the 5.0. I've driven it and while it was pretty quick I'm not sure I'd enjoy DDing it. The oem clutch sucks. It engages like 2" from the floor. It's suspension is very spongy stock but that's easily fixable. The interior isn't TOO bad but you're not getting nav that's for sure. Not sure about Bluetooth but that's a must.

Eclasses are fraught with issues, especially the W211 chassis. Airmatic suspension issues, leaky struts ($600 each to replace), gauge cluster LCD craps out ($1500), ABS module randomly $#@!s itself, if you get the ABC suspension (active body control) with the hydraulic shocks, if the belt driven pump $#@!s itself and fills the system with metal shavings, you are looking at 6-10,000 in repairs (all 4 struts, pump, tank, and labor).

I would rather prefer a 2001 W210 E55. And throw the M113k in that. Simple body electronics, motors and trans are tanks, and i love the body lines.

I haven't seen anybody do that swap. Might as well just do the M156 at that point but either of these are going to be a hassle and not what he is looking to do.

Just a Gintani rear, wider tires & drop-in.. I'm not sure if I want to go any further with it since the DCT is not doing it for me. Eventually, I want back into a MT car, but I just don't know what yet.

As opposed to serious repairs on the E60 M5 or VANOS/Mod Related Maintenance on the E46 M3. Any performance vehicle that's not American, an EVO or STI) is gonna suck maintaining/repairing.

E63 + Weistec Supercharger = Click here to enlarge E63s can been had for a lot better price than the C63s or E60 M5s. Reason is E63 with the M156 has been on sale since '07, they changed the body style in 2010 & now the new TT-V8 motor, there's been lots of trade-ins/end of leases.
