    I don't think that would be a good idea attempting to drive this back from Houston. I stay in/around close to the house because of the lack of E85 network...... It drinks fuel like its a job.

    Building this yourself would cost you a lot more money. Someone essentially paid for the pats and labor which you are getting for free. That diamond necklace doesn't do anything and you could buy all fake diamonds and put them in there and she and her friends wouldn't know the damn difference. You'll know if an M3 is turbocharged or not.

    Sadly, the missus knows all about jewelry cause she is a designer (costume jewelry) but gets her real stuff wholesale here in NY where all her mates are diamond dealers..... then again it is her money to spend..


    I agree about the M3 build, would cost so much more up here in NY.... good news is whichever way I go she will really have zero idea about the car... almost a win win

    Yeah we could ship but it is fun checking out a network of E85 dealers to see if it even possible to drive up here .... may need a few cans in the trunk to get the long >> 300 mile areas where there aren't E85s... will be in touch next week

    I couldn't even make it from Nashville to New Orleans in the EVO on e85. It's not possible. Not much e85 in the deep south. Unless you can just switch to a pump gas map and baby it to the next e85 station? IDK I didn't have a pump gas map so it wasn't possible.

    The AEM could be loaded with one of my older gas tunes, but if you went into a lot of boost :nuke:


    and I'm not taking that chance.

    I'm thinking of trailering it down to the track for S&G's soon. It's never been.....

    mainly cause I know I'm gonna get kicked off the track, so why go lol

    I cant believe this torque monster is not sold yet,the price is very cheap and the cost are a LOT more if you do this by yourself.
    Good luck with the sale,dont sell it cheaper than the asking price because it is already a steal.

    I agree. So many tire kicking girls out there who do not understand what it takes to build these cars properly. Let's do the math out loud. It costs about 9-12k for a decent e36 m3. Now think about a built motor 5-8,000 or more. Good turbo setup with tune easily another 10,000, and then their is labor. Suspension bits, and clutch kit. To build cars like the OP's and mine you are going to over 30,000 when its said and done. OP you are under pricing the car. If people low ball you tell them to pound sand.

    screwing around with it @ the shop this week.

    Took it on a 100+ mile cruise this weekend looking for trouble.... none to be had lol...
    based off of that I got to thinking- This thing *could* be a DD or a normal driver if you could manage the clutch and find E85 everywhere....... and keep your foot out of it. Just drive it 10-20% and not blow the tires off everywhere. It is such a nice driver with the suspension setup and everything.
    Things I did:

    Put a new SPAL fan on the front, it kicked a blade for some reason.

    Got the A/C all back together with factory stuff. put the Air filter directly on the turbo, and I'm making a heat shield from the manifold to keep it cool. It was the only option to get the Air compressor back in. If not, I would have to stuff a charge pipe between the frame rail and turbo manifold, and IMO, it would just turn into a REALLY hot pipe and restrict air flow..... so, screw it, the filter is on the turbo and sits directly behind the compressor. I dont drive it in the rain, and I think it will get plenty of air from underneath the car. Ill monitor its performance and see what happens, but I dont expect any changes.

    Thinking of having it turn off with the hobbs switch I have hooked up for the fuel pump controller, that way when i go into boost- the A/C isnt on......

    Adjusted the turbo timer oil pump to run about 45 seconds after shut down.

    Put a new door pocket on the left read door. It was on backorder for 10 months (!!!!)

    I'll be repainting the front bumper and nose piece next week- too many rock chips for me.
    Ordered Pagid blue S comp pads front/rear
    Ordered Bronze bushings in the calipers to reduce caliper flex.

    Changing the rear diff oil and another brake flush for good measure. (bummer- no more super blue available, so its getting ATE type200 race fluid)


    In any case, thats the "complete" list. I literally don't know of anything else to do to it. maybe go find some 16" rims to fit my ETstreets on it and go to the track? Click here to enlarge

    If the super shelby owner mouths "that thing's fast!" is that a testament to its speed? He banged gears around 60. I let out after shifting into 4th and a small pull..... by that time he was about 4 car lengths behind me. Makes me appreciate the build and how it just WALKS on "fast" cars. I'm still waiting on a car to beat it on the freeway. I'm sure it will come eventually...... but there is a long line lol

    Will prob never lose before you get rid of it, UNDEFEATED!! When I had the stage 3 car tuned to 725 and was driving in on the street, I was just hoping someone would step to it on the freeway, no one did, but I scared the $#@! out of a few passengers, that kind of power is so fun.

    Found some 16" replica rims for the ET streets...... so I had them refinished and mounted them..... they fit pretty good.... inner fender needs a little massage. No big deal.
    I've been looking for a straight pair of 16's for about 4 years now!

    The ECU is an AEM.
    I have a copy of AEM Pro tuning software to go with the car.
    Pump gas could be used if it was detuned. A lot. Like, if the wastegate spring was changed and another tune was built.
