    2013 Audi RS6 versus the B8 RS4 and Nissan GT-R in a 0-1000 meter drag race - Video

The new C7 RS6 is a strong car with its 4.0 liter 560 horsepower twin turbo V8 motor but unfortunately it is not coming to the USA. The Audi RS7 however is coming to the USA so this drag race gives us an idea of the performance capability of the car. EVO matched the RS6 up against the B8 RS4 Avant with its 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 and also the Nissan GT-R which of course sports a twin turbo V6 powerplant in a standing kilometer drag race.

The first race is RS6 versus RS4 and the RS4 predictably is destroyed. It isn't even close. It feels like an eternity by the time the RS4 crosses the finish line after the RS6. It's a 2 second difference.

The GT-R race is the interesting one and it is the more worthy competitor in a straightline contest. The GT-R being lighter and also having all wheel drive gets out of the hole quicker versus the RS6. It increases the lead as the race goes and convincingly beats the RS6 down. It's lighter, it has a dual clutch trans as opposed to an automatic, and is simply faster.

The RS4 does the 0-1000 meter sprint in 24.06 @ 135.4 MPH. The RS6 in 22.04 @ 146.9 MPH, much faster. The GT-R? 21.29 @ 151.4 MPH. So while it is quicker and faster the RS6 is pretty close and certainly impressive for a wagon. The lighter RS7 should make things between the two more interesting and closer. Regardless, the new RS6 is a strong car even though it does not really improve on the previous generation's twin turbo V10.

i find it unfortunate that the rs6 gets an 8speed automatic because the 7 speed dual clutch couldn't hold the torque.

given a quicker shifting transmission of the DCT, may have been just slightly closer, with the GT-R still getting the win

The previous version had a naturally aspirated V10.
It did not have a twin turbo V10.

Huh ? Check your facts. As already stated the previous C6 Typ 4F MY 2008-2010 had the 5.0L Biturbo V10.

I concede that I'm wrong, and that you are absolutely correct that the RS6 got the TTV10, but the US only got the naturally aspirated V10 in the S6.

The US didn't get the RS6, so I don't know why the RS6 would even be brought up here.

Is this an American site, or not?

You nailed it. I have the same gripe. Also about no sedan...

You're confusing it with the C6 S6 which was a naturally aspirated V10. The RS6 was a twin turbo V10 that did not come to the USA. Maybe some of us do know what we're talking about, eh?

You were doing so well with conceding you were wrong.

Yes, this is an American site about GERMAN cars. The reason the RS6 was brought up is because this is an RS6 in the video and guess what, it isn't coming to the USA either just like the previous generation. So talking about the RS6 in the context of the RS6 makes complete sense. Just accept you were wrong graciously and like a man.

Posting a video and discussing a car that we never got doesn't make sense.
We're getting the RS7, so talk about that.

I was wrong. I've got no problem admitting when I am wrong. But, my confusion stemmed from you discussing a video and car that was never meant for the US.

What motor does the RS7 have? What video of the RS7 drag racing the RS4 and GTR would you like me to post? Did anyone mention the RS7 in the article?

No, you're confusion stemmed from you not knowing what the hell you're talking about.

Yep, this is how it's done. Excellent work by EVO not like the crap British comparisons we usually get with them running the cars in the wet and talking about their feelings instead of providing real data.

Drive one around a track, definitely not a robot.

Using launch control and straight line runs, I could see the robot comment. It is very consistent.

I double checked and I think it is the B8. Would be easier if they listed the model year. Good eye!
