Pretty typical of Obama supporters, "Oh, Obama supports it? Where do I sign?"

I just don't understand when or why it became "cool" to support Libs/Dems/Obama. If you watch Bill Maher or Jon Stewart and actually agree with those morons and don't feel they are biased with an agenda you are a $#@!ing idiot. About as dumb as these people signing that petition.

This is good too back from the election.

Reminds me of my birth land under a commie Prime Minister in the 1970s... this stuff never ends well... but at least we got rid of the bum quickly..

AND YES.... I know on these blogs a foreigner should not get "POLITICAL" but I live in NY and I am the only right wing dude I know...

BTW - some of the sheet that comes out of my "ultra-liberal" yet seemingly "ultra-biggoted" New Yorker friends is on an ignorance level with folks I lived with in Morocco and Tunisia.... effing frightening

the good thing for USA is that there are some wondrous people who will right your ship...

ALAS my Australian homeland has become a political joke with GREENS and ultra-Lefties running the show...

So bad are they that in the biggest commodities bull run in the biggest commodities driven economy in history they have managed to get themselves in a 120% Debt to GDP hole whereas in 2003 when I left said country there was ZERO DEBT

Food for thought in USA as we continue to print money at 0% and buy our own falling bonds at 2.5-3.6%

Ok, this is kinda a open letter...

I used to call myself a rightie, but really I'm in the middle. I call it the "leave me the "F" alone zone" I don't care who anyone wants to marry, screw, what they wanna smoke or drink in the privacy of their home or private club, I don't care how much money you want to make give to charity, or what business you did in which consumers supported or didn't support to put you in the position you are in. My only question to anyone and everyone who believe constricting and controlling laws can/will better any country. "What makes you think forcing someone to do something or follow a certain way will improve their way of life?" You want welfare? Go to church, or go to one of the thousands of charities there are out there which are VOLUNTARILY funded, just stay the hell out of my pocket and stop asking weak-minded politicians for more more MORE MORE! You wanna leach off of other's success? Go right ahead, it's called a stock market. IMO being taxed wrongfully and unjustly to support programs you disagree with is as bad as someone breaking into your home and taking 25% of your $#@!. Tell me, what's the difference? Either way I had to give it away and it wasn't by choice...

I'm fed up, and the absolute worst part of it, I MEAN THE WORST PART! Is how many people are brainwashed that is OK or realize it's not OK and just don't care. I actually had someone tell me that no one should be able to make over $100k/year anything over that should be taxes to help the poor. Seriously? So I guess businesses like Wal-Mart should just give away their profits to people not working as opposed to using profits to grow, open stores, and employ people willing to at least show up for a paycheck. Sure, who needs a nice car? Why employee all of those employees working for BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, Bugatti, Cadillac, I suppose all of those engineers to who design features that trickle down into lesser expensive vehicles don't deserve any reward for their efforts? Give me a break.

Alright I'm done, need to stop before this turns into a 2,000 word deal...

Yeah crazy thing is NY is kind of like Australia in a way... ultra liberal... trouble is to get to that horrid thing called

    SOCIALISM

takes 30 years of pain and cultural breaking..... then there is little incentive to create, to work.. it is all shared around

For me USA was built on the philosophy, "leave me, THE INDIVIDUAL alone to my freedoms, be whatever they may" and now bit by bit.. we can't do simple things like gamble, play online poker, walk down a street with a gun, own a gun (NYC)

Trust me on the government interference, it is horrible. I set up from scratch an inv bank down-under and every week I had government idiots busting my balls about something... magnify that in every Aussie industry and you see why they are in such a messed up place now when they should be kicking back and enjoying massive surpluses on their commodity wealth

I agree with you 100%. Why does the list of liberties continue to get smaller and smaller? How is that freedom?

Seems unless the lost liberty hits Americans in the forehead, they don't really care. Who cared about NSA and probably other gov agencies snooping on citizens not under suspicion? Nobody when the "Patriot act" was passed, now a whole lot of people when it could be them being bugged. Of course the authors of "freedom rust" claim it wasn't what they meant. Small consolation!

The danger with a 3rd major party is it dilutes things to the point where you end up like Australia, Greece and France..... Greens, commies, lunatics minorities can influence a huge amount of political pressure whilst gaining very few seats in congress (parliament) or the senate... I know the LP here is a "sweeter" version of the old right wing US politics but their rise would probably fracture the GOP (more) and make things easier for the mother !@#$%%&* Hillarys of the world

You shouldn't have to align with any party. I have yet to see a party where I agree 100% with everything. It should be based on policy.

Yes Sticky... but one needs to vote for someone who can WIN... it is all about winning and then you can actually do something...... The right wing HERE will realize soon that they are going to have to assuage the FORMER minority voters in USA (women, latin vote, gays etc) to be able to win at a Federal level because of the changing demographics here..... The former minority leans left and now have the balance of power

The worst thing that can happen to America is getting 3rd and 4th parties that water down the political power of the top 2 parties.... trust me... it really fecks things up

For all the oomph of the TEA Party, it has down zero to help GOP win... in many cases it is seen as a negative for the swinging voters (women especially)

Well, since this seems like to be the tread for everybody to be pissing and moaning in let me add my stream of thought here. What really grinds my gears is that before 9/11/2001 if you had a different opinion than your government leaders, that was just that, you had a different opinion and you were armed with your power of voting to try and change it....if you cared enough.

But now you have a difference of opinion and:

Agree completely. We're now at the point where political dissent is a crime, and you can be swept up and locked away forever without a trial or even being charged. You just have to speak up about something and have that speech somehow twisted into 'terror'.

It's all downhill from here folks.
