    2014 Mercedes-Benz C117 CLA45 AMG M133 performance test numbers - 0-60 in 4.2, 1/4 mile in 12.8@110, 3619 pound curb weight

Here we are, some US test figures for the new 2014 CLA45 AMG courtesy of Car and Driver. The CLA45 AMG runs in the range we all expected having seen the overseas acceleration tests. A 12.8@110 is very impressive from a stock turbocharged 2.0 liter factory motor. The 0-60 is a real eye opening figure at 4.2 seconds meaning this car from a stoplight should be able to beat more powerful cars that are traction limited in short sprints.

The all wheel drive system clearly is doing its job along with the 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This is a very efficient powertrain.

Curb weight registers at 3619 pounds. Not exactly a lightweight car but not terrible either for an all wheel drive turbocharged dual clutch performance sedan.

It handles well too pulling .94g on the skidpad. It looks like Mercedes-Benz hit a home run in the entry level segment. This will be a very popular Mercedes to tune.

Nah this thing rocks. I'd love to have them all but if we can only get two I'll take this and the GLA45.

Very impressive numbers. Curious about the * next to the skid pad result. Seems they couldn't totally defeat the DSC program, which would be a first on an AMG model.
