Any progress on cracking the Siemens ECU for the C180/200/250?

Running a piggyback is not ideal for me, but it's currently the only option. Looking to see if there are any updates on tuners working on cracking the Siemens ECU found in the CGi engines for a real flash tune.

That's sad to hear, all this attention on the A/CLA45 and the rest of us left out. Maybe it's time to save up for the Brabus kit.

Well it's unfortunate but that segment of the market just doesn't get much attention.

For the C & SLK 180/250 CGI engine M271evo 1.8L Turbo with control unit: Siemens Continental SIM271DE2.0 ECU. Cost for development would be too high for return investment, this ECU it's smarter than all those tuning boxes btw. In the mean time M270/M274/M133 it's what we are concentrating on. Also, it's better to wait for the M276DELA30 Biturbo 3.0L V6 on the 400 series production. BTW, development has been near completion, now just need a car for a few weeks testing & validation =)

Thank you very much for your input.

Please take a look in the M157 forum regarding a belt issue with those motors when you get a chance.

Understandable, business is business. However Brabus and Kleeman have piggyback boxes for this engine so what is your POV on those tuning boxes and their performance/functionality or is it also hype like the rest of the tuning boxes out there? Also, on an individual basis, it's still not possible to crack the ECU for flashing even via bench flashing? Thanks so much for contributing, really helps to get info on this matter.

Problem is this is the car I'm stuck with so unfortunately waiting for this new engine isn't of any use. How come this specific car was done using such a locked ECU while the other models seem to be more tune friendly?

If a piggyback is available that is probably your best solution as of right now.
