    Rebellion Automotive announces TCU (transmission control unit) tuning for the CLA45/A45/GLA45 AMG M133 platform

    Rebellion Automotive is a UK based tuner making their name on the M133 four-cylinder AMG platform. BenzBoost took a look at their product offering last month and they have now added transmission tuning to their catalog. Rebellion Automotive claims that their A45/CLA45 AMG plug and play iTuning TCU system results in smoother shifts, a 50% reduction in shift time, and an increase in the amount of available torque.

    Now, they likely are raising torque limits that the transmission can handle so the increase is torque is likely true. However, a 50% reduction in shift time while claiming smoother shifts is hard to believe. BenzBoost would like to see some kind of data to support the shift time reduction claim. If the software is making such a large difference in the shift time it should easily transfer over to an improvement in acceleration figures.

    There is no data for support and no pricing information either. Rebellion is going to need to provide more substance but M133 tuning definitely is continuing to move forward.

    Good stuff @Sticky I immediately contacted rebellion after seeing this and am having one of the first units shipped over to me Click here to enlarge I recently installed the tune last weekend and its a boost monster was really really surprised how much power and torque it picked up. Stock the midrange was a bit underwhelming with a good top end rush after 5K rpm. Total different car now anything above 3K rpm will pin you back with massive boost rush all the way to redline. I made it clear I was very annoyed by the stock tcu software that decides to short shift for no good reason and slow response on the paddles.     How much was the TCU software? Is it an additional piggyback unit?

    On enquiry for my SL it appears its a hand held that connects to the odb port to flash and if required revert to stock. Think Euro charged genius.

    Exactly it will be a small OBDII tool that will load it and store the stock TCU Tune similar to MY Genius/Cobb AP. Not 100% sure on the price but they said they will give me a bit of a break since I bought there piggyback recently. Car really transformed was so surprised a car that aggressive from the factory with 26 psi had that much left on the table. Also have a diablo trinity tuner from srt8 jeep and once the stingray is broken in Im going to tune that $#@! for free gotta love #murica

    yupp seems they dropped the announcement a bit early haven't heard any pricing or further information. He said he would be getting back to me real soon so well see how that goes Im sure it will be a great product they seem to be real enthusiasts

    I met with them today at a GTG and the devices are due in Tuesday and once they program them they will be ready to ship? I hope to test one on Thursday as I have dyno session booked. I will post back under the M157 section.

    Got my TCU tune yesterday. Install is super easy! First impressions...shifts feel more crisp and I've yet to have the dreaded short shift so it appears to be working. They say it takes 10 to 100+ miles to fully adapt so I definitely need more seat time to really get a feel for it. The ECU tune will definitely give you more of a WOW factor in my opinion.
